President Bush discussed the economy with small business owners today at the White House, and later held a small briefing in the Rose Garden. Bush called on Congress to pass his tax cut proposal to help stimulate the economy. The President also took the opportunity to discuss the war in Iraq and praised the work of the soldiers who have helped the Iraqi people achieve freedom. Also today, the President signed a proclamation commemorating the 35th Anniversary of the Fair Housing Act. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Hillary was going to write one of them the last time I checked, My guess is that Jeb will have to deal with the backlash in 2009 and Vice President Rice will put the story to rest :-)

Prayers for Frank and your son-in-law. After the tough decision he had to make. Iraq will certainly need good Force Protection (that's what we call it, anyway) but it will certainly be a challenge.

Our older son was mugged and knocked unconscious while he was traveling in Lithuania.

He's going to be OK, but he's not feeling too well yet. We're going to decide in a day or two if my husband needs to fly over and travel with him, or bring him home.

Thanks so much, I do have faith that he can handle himself in very tough situations. He spent 28 years on the Montgomery Co. Police Force and is very street wise. He reminds me very much of my father and I know between prayers and his experience, he will be fine. I still ask for your prayers though.

Thank You

I missed this, too. How awful. Glad to hear he will be OK and is getting help from kind people.

Oh no, Ohio. How terrible. I'm so glad that your son is okay, and hope that his recovery is quick. That must have been so frightening when you heard that.

"I'm a monthly donor. I love this place."

I'm with you. It's my default homepage, among other things. Sometimes I have three windows going at once so I can keep up with everything! A small monthly donation doesn't seem like much, but it is for SUCH a good cause.

Thanks, JimRob, and God Bless Free Republic!

LOL, I knew I screwed that up :-), I spent several minutes trying to remember what he said on Saturday. "Force Protection" LOL, I feel like a mental midget :-)

He was so cool about telling me about his notice. He asked me to come out on the deck on the back of our house to talk to him and he thanked me over and over for the advice I gave him, (which actually came from all of you), He said "Listen Dad, I can't tell you how much it meant to me how much thought you put into explaining your feelings about me going back into the Marines, I appreciate you insuring me that you would be there for the kids and my Wife. So I have decided not to rejoin, but check out this letter"

I did and it was a warning that he should notify his employer that he could be called up for duty and be prepared. He then shook my hand and handed me a Card with a gift certificate to my wife and I's favorite Restaurant for our Wedding Anniversary. He then told me that he could get out of serving because he teaches school and has a family that needs him, but said that he would go if called, I agreed and shook his hand.

I can look in his eyes and know how much he wants to go, I have to admit, I completely understand his desire to do something for his country. My biggest regret is that I can't

Yeah.....last night, I couldn't sleep. I just wanted to bring both my boys home, give them hugs, and take care of them.

This is rugged. I'm exhausted, and I'm going to bed! Good night, all!
