``The preponderance of the Republican Guard divisions outside of Baghdad are now dead,'' he said. ``I find it interesting when folks say we're softening them up. We're not softening them up, we're killing them.''
``It's either we kill them or they give up. There's no way out for these guys,'' Moseley added.

My candidate for best quote?
"May the fleas of a thousand camels infest his hair!"

Here's a fave quote of mine. A reporter asked an Army soldier what his mission was and the soldier said, "To beat the Marines to Baghdad, sir."
To: coteblanche
Yep they fought to the death allright. In the original post about softening them up I believe they went limp. I would call that softening them up. Hehehehe.

One of my favorites was when Rick Leventhal asked a marine what music they would be playing when they entered Baghdad. He asked, "Maybe a little Simon and Garfunkel?" Marine replied, "No. Kill 'em all by Metallica."

The whiners didn't realize what they were saying when they kept complaining that resistance was "stiffening."

In the beginning of the war FNC was talking about Saddam's doubles. They were talking about troops encountering about seven of them. They have them all lined up, Ok, drop the mustach, will the real Saddam please stand up, ect. ect. It was a riot.

These are all great (especially "they are dead" and the metallica ones) but my favorite was as they rescued Jessica, they announce to her:
"We are with the US Army and are here to rescue you"
to which she replied:
"I am an American soldier too"
Its hard to top that.
God Bless them all.

My favorite was some reporter asked a Marine what his favorite song will be--that he will sing-- when he arrives in Baghdad. This relaxed and tall young Marine said,
" Kill them All, by Metallica. "
