Roll Call: Pipes and Drums of The Free Republic

Reading A_Conservative_in_Cambridge's question about FReeper musicians (noting how the Left likes to turn out with their silly little drums), in his excellent report on the Rally in Harvard Square (that's right!), I got to wondering how many pipers and Scottish drummers there are among Freepers (I know of one locally). This would be an excellent opportunity to put down the Left even further, by turning out for rallies.

I wish i knew how to play bagpipes. I love bagpipe and drum music. Nothing stirrs the soul like that.

Imagine a hundred pipes and drums at a FR rally. All with Braveheart facepaint on.

I sing for my own enjoyment. My singing teacher in the car is Marc Anthony. He's so smooth. My singing faves are Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday.

There is a McDonalds All American Band. Maybe freeper musicians could meet once a year? Not right now though because I'm glued to the tv with the uprising today in Baghdad and Basra.

I'm definitely not an American Idol but I like Clay Aiken and Kimberly Caldwell in that competition.

Singers are great for shout outs at rallys and campaign events (much to the chagrin of our relatives).

Basra checking in: "In Basra they looted the hotel and the furniture store. They are pushing a grand piano down the street, and chairs and tables and couches!!" Seriesly.

I have drummed... not Scottish, but played drums in my High school marching band. (Does that count?)

Heck... we played in the 1974 Cotton Bowl parade.

Got a brother that plays pipes. He's pretty good.

I also play mando, guitar and (sorta) fiddle. But I AMa regular over at the the Hobbit Hole...guess it might hurt poor l'il JHoffa's feelings if I volunteer?

Rosie, who HAS been known to wear a skirt on occasion...

I've been known to blow a mean tuba...

All tubas and Sousaphones are mean, as well as cruel and unusual. But you oughta organize a similar effort of FReeper tubaists for Christmas caroling, along the lines of Harv Philips TubaSantas.
