I believe Jay is becoming more conservative and doesn't want to admit it to keep from alienating liberal show guests. But notice that American flag pin on his lapel, and some of the jokes in his recent monologues. Something good must be happening to all the comedians when they entertain the troops.

I could be wrong, and he could be just another gravytrainer, but I think this Miller boy is maybe one of us. The comment about the Democratic Elite Guard was a classic.

( I agree with Savage. Liberalism is a mental disorder.)

I really don't see the connection between Geraldo and Arnett. Geraldo did not do what he did on purpose. He obviously didn't even think he did anything wrong. I'M NOT SAYING IT WAS, but there was no malice, as was with Arnett

He did a good job of dividing the protestors into four groups, pacifists, people with an agenda (democrats), people who compare everyone to Hitler (Bush, and his team, but find nothing wrong with a guy with a mustach who drops people in a wood chipper, and people who protest anything.

Thanks, I won't miss it.

Just caught Dennis Miller on Leno.
He was GREAT!

Once I worked in FOrt Lauderdale for a company which made 100'+ mega yachts, 5 million and up a copy.
Totally decadent: marble, gold, silk etc interiors.
But they cost 10% of their value per year to keep up and staff! A five million dollar yacht costs at least $500,000 in crew salary, salary of yard workers etc.
And the builders employ 100+ craftsmen from welders to interior designers creating them.
Seeing that "decadence" up close totally changed my outlook. That capitalist decadence feeds 100s of families, providing 100s of skilled manufacturing jobs that are very heavily tilted toward old-world hand craftsmanship. Those yachts are modern "cathedrals" in terms of the craftsmen they employ.
The same is true of Leno's Duisinbergs (sp) and Stutz Bearcats. Every part is milled and machined by hand at VERY high cost, to Leno, which goes in a machinists pocket.
The same is also true for the jet charter company. I see that ten minute flight as Leno stimulating the economy.
Like I said, it beats stacking gold bars in a vault like Scrooge McDuck.
Mr. Leno, if you read this, I salute you.

Another sizzling performance. This time I had the foresight to tape it, so I can enjoy it again. I was thrilled to hear him skewer Michael Moore. "How could such a big guy be such a small man?" Loved it!

Note how Jay will let Dennis rant on and on and never argue, the way he does with Bill Maher. I believe Jay is becoming more conservative and doesn't want to admit it to keep from alienating liberal show guests. But notice that American flag pin on his lapel, and some of the jokes in his recent monologues. Although I think he will make jokes against all politicians as long as they don't hit too deep, I think Leno strives to be like the entertainers of old, like Carson and Bob Hope, who could be well-liked by all, and would *never* not support their country in time of war. Even Letterman strives for that. All those who last the long term must not be too political on either side but always patriotic. It is a tough balance. It would not surprise me if Leno is doing or eventually does do stints for the USO... I think he would like for that legacy that Bob Hope has.
