Totally decadent: marble, gold, silk etc interiors.
But they cost 10% of their value per year to keep up and staff! A five million dollar yacht costs at least $500,000 in crew salary, salary of yard workers etc.
And the builders employ 100+ craftsmen from welders to interior designers creating them.
Seeing that "decadence" up close totally changed my outlook. That capitalist decadence feeds 100s of families, providing 100s of skilled manufacturing jobs that are very heavily tilted toward old-world hand craftsmanship. Those yachts are modern "cathedrals" in terms of the craftsmen they employ.
The same is true of Leno's Duisinbergs (sp) and Stutz Bearcats. Every part is milled and machined by hand at VERY high cost, to Leno, which goes in a machinists pocket.
The same is also true for the jet charter company. I see that ten minute flight as Leno stimulating the economy.
Like I said, it beats stacking gold bars in a vault like Scrooge McDuck.
Mr. Leno, if you read this, I salute you.
