ABC News radio, as we speak, is reporting that people in Baghdad are waving and cheering our troops....that we entered the airport area almost unopposed...great news!

What's "strange" is that anyone took any of those doom-and-gloom pundits seriously in the first place.

Well, I got flamed for suggesting two days ago that the RG MIGHT have been dispersed originally to Basra and al-Nashirya and other "outlying" areas for a propaganda victory and to hope that U.S./Euro anti-war movements would force an end to the war.

I know it lacks MILITARY logic, but Saddam was never playing a military game, but a POLITICAL/PROPAGANDA GAME.

Ya know what? If we thought it went too easy on day one and the first few days after that, we have to question that we are so close and nada? This cannot be.

"I think it is funny that saddam keeps telling his people that "victory is at hand" when every day, or few hours, some other place is falling to US or Britsh forces."

It's merely a flesh wound!

"squawk!! QUAGMIRE! QUAGMIRE!!!"

No, no, no. That was *yesterday's* doublespeak.

Today's new talking points are updated to include such gems as:

"Clearly the Bush administration lied about the threat that Iraq posed, because the Iraqi's were no threat to our military."

Do try to keep up.

I feel the same way. Seems like a set-up for an ambush to me.

I'm sure they're prepared for this but it's still unnerving to say the least.

One of my biggest concerns since the war has begun was that there was a trap waiting on us in Bagdad. My worst nightmare would be a nuclear bomb and next to that my worst nightmare would be chemical. I am praying we do not have either awaiting us

ABC radio reporter Bob Schmidt, tells listeners via phone, that tanks and other armored vehicles broke through the barriers of Saddam Intl. Airport and has yet to experience any resistance...

Oh yeah? Wait until they tell the clerk at the counter that they don't have a boarding pass...
