Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

It's not that we had a plaan....it's that we didn't leak it to the media so they could broadcast it to the enemy.

On the Chris Matthews (MSNBC) show, the Liberal fools still don't realize that it was our strategy to keep Turkey OUT of the war all along....it was not a diplomatic flaw.

Everyone expected us to wait until the new moon... Which is why we didn't!
I've been pondering the events and the "news" of the last 10 days and I have a theory about what the Pentagon is doing. The Pentagon KNOWS that the press is going to telegraph every comment from "anyone" in the Pentagon direct to Iraq - so - they have been using the media since long before the war! Why? In order to lull Saddam into the trap! S&A was "BIG" - but we didn't start with that - his troops weren't ready to engage us and we swarmed through the country before they knew what hit them. Now they are isolated. What do we say? Oh, gee, we underestimated - no supplies, blah blah, so the Iraqi's get the idea they can "break out" and land right where we want them! Out in the open where we can pick them off at will, instead of having to rout them from house to hosue. IMHO, we are getting a VERY small sense of the real situation on the ground - the Pentagon is engaging in a propaganda war and the media are lapping it up!

Everyone expected us to wait until the new moon... Which, BTW, is a couple days away. Maybe we are waiting for it.

Hey Thinkin is right. Terms like "Raghead" won't help us win the 'hearts and minds' of the iraqi people.

Wait wait I get it now. We planned on using the cover of the new moon all along. We just left out on important fact. That's we'd ALREADY be in Iraq when we used it as cover.

erms like "Raghead" won't help us win the 'hearts and minds' of the iraqi people. The inclination to "group" people, instead of treating each as an individual is so, so, so . . . liberal.
Using creepy names is sophomoric at best.

We didn't perform on stage. Just had fun pickin' in the jamming that goes on into the wee, wee hours. The shows were very good. Occasionally while listening to the shows I'd remember our soldiers, Marines and sailors and it would tug at my heartstrings, knowing they are in discomfort or in actual danger on our behalf and I was having all this fun.
Soon I realized that was "stinkin' thinkin'" that wasn't helping anybody and that perhaps the best thing I could do was to have a good time in their honor so to speak.
Dunno, sort of poignant feelings that I experienced during the experience this weekend. But a good time all in all.

Now you got it!! We got two weeks up on Saddam!! and I think it shows. Think Saddam would have had many more in those southern cities we passed.....to match the caches we found.
