Why would there be a ceasefire -- is it some media campaign for one or something?

Wait a minute: I'm going to defend the liberals out of one side of my mouth here (I'll get to the other side later)...
Yes, they do care that 400,000 kids have died. That is why
they want to "end the sanctions"!
Of course, now... they are also bragging about the effectiveness of the "containment" of Saadumb... of which a cornerstone IS the sanctions. Which way do they want it - the sanctions or the children? I want neither one... end the sanctions now, and save the children. It takes the US military to do both at the same time, not the UN.

No one needs to ever use syrup of Ipecac again. All one needs to do is watch CNN for 30 seconds and the results are the same, only more intense.

"The 400,000 children have died in the past 5 years. The anti-war crowd doesn't give a damn.""They sure don't! Kids dying is quiet and no one knows about it but war is violent and loud and there is actual blood, so it's bad. Yes war is the worst thing there is but starving kids or people quietly tortured and raped, no problem!"
The anti-war people will tell you they are concerned about the children, but that they don't believe Bush and Blair are doing this for their future.
They don't believe Bush and Blair are doing this for any moral reason.
They believe it is "For The Oil" and all "The money big business will make in rebuilding Iraq."
Rumsfeld: "There will be no cease fire in Iraq."

I think if we were living in the city of Baghdad we would be in shock & awe & frightened out of our wits.... That reporter from ABC sure was in S&A when we bombed the crap out of Saddam's palace
If I recall, he almost wet himself and Peter Jennings had to calm him down

For those that haven't seen this picture yet of the mural in iraq ..here it is again..this is a photo to be aired often
http://www.nypost.com/images/front032703.gif The caption says that the marines had to avert their eyes from it. I wish we could get a pic of someone destroying it.

Those numbers are if you accept the anti-war 'humanitarian' groups estimates. When 'good guys' quote those numbers they are using a bit of irony in throwing the stat back at the groups who ca-a-a-re.
However it just sounds like a confirmation of fact rather than irony.
The base number that people relate to is '5000' children a month are dying. While food is controlled by the government, and only the RG are looking stout, the population of Iraq is not disappearing, so many children are making it past the age of 5.
Consider a country of 24 million - 12 million women - 6 million in childbearing age - a high birth rate. A lot of these babies will die from a multitude of reasons which will reach that quoted 5000 a month.

Isn't it interesting that the same people who claimed the Kyoto Treaty was in the world's best interests and slammed Bush for getting out of it now want us to be concerned for
ourselves only.
Those people who were so concerned about the "world community" don't seem to give a darn for the Iraqi people or the threat that Hussein poses to the region and indeed the world.
Their overiding concern for global warming would be sweet if it wasn't so misguided. One would think they'd be far more concerned with the hundreds of thousands of children who starve in Iraq. Ignorance is Blix.

No one needs to ever use syrup of Ipecac again. You're assuming CNN will stay in business.
