Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Peanut, an Alaskan Malamute,is the first dog to be given over to a foster family in the Pets of Patriots program. Peanut's owner is a U.S. Marine who has been deployed overseas.

That's a great idea. I had to give up my dog when I was in the USAF since my roomies were also aircrew and I had nobody to watch after him.

At least they didn't shoot at them. True, It would have been nice to have some bases there we could have used. This thing may have been moving along better than is is if we did. Such is life.

I think that there are things going on in the north and west that we are unaware of. I can not imagine that this thing has not been carefully planned. Truthfully, I don't think anything that has happened was unexpected. I think that the media would like us to believe that our military is full of incompetent boobs, but I really don't beleive that is the case.
Franks, Rummy, et all know what they are doing. I think we could have a major push from the west. Remember GW1 when we said that we would come from the sea? Saddam positioneed all of his troops facing the sea and we came up from behind them! There is just a ton of BS flying out there and I think that Rummy loves it, do you see his sly smile when he talks to reporters...it is as if he is thinking, "Uh huh, you guys got it, the plan, the miscalculations, uh huh."
Just my thoughts, we have some outstanding men/women in control, and I think they know EXACTLY what they are doing.
