Most sat on their hands during Moore's screed. But he was damn near shouted down! He was booed and hissed, with loud cries of "NOOO"

I think they flashed the "Applause" sign and struck up the band while they muscled the lover of dictators off the stage.

I hadn't watched a minute of the show until I tuned in this weasel. Serves me right.

BTW, Moore's "documentaries" are as phoney as Enron's books.

you'd never know this if you watch the three major network

Yes!

Watch Fox News. Studies show that conservatives' blood pressure falls 25% after switching from CNN/NBC/CBS/ETC to Fox.

Seriously----it is a different world. I NEVER watch the other guys but have flipped over a bit the last few days. It is two different worlds. Fox has Bush as president. I think the other networds believe the president is Martin Sheen.

That was more than worth it -- I am glad that left him spew his hatred because for the most part the audience look shocked and those anti-Moore folks made my evening! Never thought I would see anything like it.

Concur! I recall the camera angle for the standing O he got was a rather low one, and didn't span over much of the audience. You know, objects in your lens seem bigger than they actually are.

OK, now get ready for the Michael Moore Self-Martyr-thon.

Steve Martin - "It was so sweet backstage - the Teamsters are helping Michael Moore into the trunk of his limo!"

He can join Jimmy Hoffa at the Meadowlands.

BTW: Clemenza WANTS Daniel Day Lewis to win for GONY, but the award will probably go to closet pro-lifer Jack Nicholson for "About Sh-t."

There were plenty of boos that basically drowned out the last words he was saying! Never thought I would see the day Hollywood boo'd Michael Moore!

I want to send cartoons of cigarettes to the troops. I am serious. Any idea how this can be done? (I am not a smoker, btw, but an ex smoker. If I was being fired upon, if I hadn't had any worldly pleasures like a hot shower or hamburger in weeks---a cigarette would be HEAVENLY.)

People, do yourself a favor and end the pain. FNC is showing John Timoney (Miami Police Chief). The samy guy who locked up all the leftie demonstrators at the Republican Convention here in Philly. Go John!

Moore said we live in fictitous times. If only September 11th could have been a bad Jerry Bruckheimer movie instead of reality...

Don't you think that all he accomplished was suppressing ANYONE who was thinking of saying anything overtly political? He's such a pig. Instead of taking his 45 seconds and be humble, he will always be remembered as the jerk who was booed at the Academy Awards. Remember that.

Ed Norton's EX girlfriend Courtney Love called the Marines after 911 to sign up!

Wow! That's really cool, actually.

Imagine how an Iraqi soldier would behave if confronted by a screaming "Hoo-ya"-ing Courtney Love?! ;-)

After a quick search, I found this (in confirmation of your statement):

All We Need Is (Courtney) Love? --- By Scott Huver, Hollywood.com Staff

Excerpt:

Courtney Love, USMC? It sounds like a premise even funnier than when Gomer Pyle was drafted.

When singer, actress and all-around agent provocateur Courtney Love told Howard Stern she wanted to join the United States Marine Corps to defend the country during its current battle against terrorist forces, the shock jock's listeners may have thought it was, at best, an attempt to lighten the national mood up with a little levity or, at worst, a stunt to snare a little limelight.

But according to the rock diva's reps, Love was 100% serious. She was ready to trade in her gauzy Versace gowns for a khaki and camouflage fashion statement.

Sources at the high-powered publicity firm PMK confirm that the former Hole front-woman did indeed contact top-level government officials at the Pentagon in the wake of attacks there and at New York's World Trade Center. Her question: Would it really be possible for someone like me to join the military?

Looked to me like very few people stood up and applauded his receiving the award -- mostly the front rows!

HOLLYWOOD IS FOR IRAQ - AND ANTI AMERICAN

"Bush is a racist"--Danny Glover

"I think America has no experience with terrorism or even with war. In Europe, we know a little bit more about these things." --Peter Gabriel

"As dumb as this administration is, they don't look ahead. They don't know where any countries are...They don't really know much about anything."

"Now you have people [in Washington] who have no interest in the country at all. They're interested in their companies, their corporations grabbing Caspian oil."-- Gore Vidal

“In my country the atmosphere is poisoned. Unbreathable for those of us who are not on the right. So thank you for inviting me to this festival and allowing me to leave there for a few days.” -- Jessica Lange

"So when I see the American flag, I go, 'Oh my God, you're insulting me.'"

"'We're here, we're queer!' -- that's what makes my heart swell. Not the flag, but a gay naked man or woman burning the flag. I get choked up with pride." -- Janeanne Garofalo

"I believe he thinks this [war against Iraq] is a war that can be won, but there is no such thing anymore...We can't beat anyone anymore" -- George Clooney

"[Bush is a] sad figure: not too well educated, who doesn't get out of America much. He's leading the country towards fascism... he wouldn't understand the word fascism anyway." --Larry Hagman

"It is inappropriate for the [Bush] administration to trump up a case in which we are ballyhooed into war."

But, a few years earlier:

"...the bottom line is that I think it’s appropriate for the international community in situations like this to intervene [in Kosovo]. I am in favor of an intervention. On some level you have to say that at least somebody [Clinton] is doing something." -- Mike Farrell

MASS WALKOUTS PLANNED IN U.S.A if war breaks out from A.N.S.W.E.R

Well, I guess I'm the only one here who believes this was all a pre-planned set-up tonight.

The show's producers knew Moore would say something evil. That's why they hired him in the first place.

The audience knew he would say something evil. They waited. He delivered on cue.

The lines he delivered gave the leftist audience something to boo and shake its hypocritical collective heads about.

Talk about a perfect scenario to try to repair Hollyweird's image.

This is the land of high drama, right?

I can still hear the script rustling.
