Thanks Jim.
I appreciate not having to scan through lots of "stuff" to get to the most recent news.

Jim
As we move into what for any of us is arguably the most uncertain time in our lives, if not the history of our country-- perhaps even civilization itself, I am humbled to be part of this cantakerous, ragtag group of people who call themselves FReepers
We spit and fight like schoolkids among ourselves, but if I need a back I'll have a FReeper on my back or I'll do it myself
It's not hyperbole to say that Free Republic saved our free republic in November of 2000.
If we had not had this forum to mobilize and communicate that momentous occasion might have turned a different way, and the ensuing cascade of consequences is too horrifying to contemplate
I'm not much of one for platitudes, but I am humbly and profoundly grateful for what you have created and fostered and preserved, and it is with no small measure of gratitude that I honestly say...
You have changed the world.
As surely as any man has ever turned history, since time began, you have changed the world. I saw it with my own eyes.
And I thank you.

May I make a suggestion?
Break out the "News" and "Activism" sections seperately on a permanent basis. Often I want to see what activism happened the prior days or weekends and it would be easier if it was its own category.

I was thinking the same thing this afternoon. I looked at the breaking news list and it was an alphabet soup of junk. Thanks for stepping in.

When the war starts, FR will possibly be so busy that it will be difficult to get into the site. If members post a lot of comments does that slow the site down more than if they simply request page views? If so, the site would be easier to access if members refrain from posting unless it is substantive - not just me-too, LOL, I-agree type responses.
I am not suggesting that there be any official criteria, but users would be expected to use their discretion. Would this make a difference?
I don't know much about the mechanics of how a site like this operates; maybe posting and viewing have the same effect on performance. I just thought I'd ask.
To: Jim Robinson
Amen to that unless Laci Peterson, Jahid, or any other missing person is found.
Thank you for FR
