So this explains why my Elizabeth Smart thread was pulled from breaking earlier today.

I would anticipate a lot of "war-related" threads in the very near future that would qualify as breaking news. We sure don't stuff like "Did Ya See Hannity Just Slam That Liberal On Fox!!" in Breaking News. Not that that's a bad thing

Jim
I suggest that you put a notice at the top of the forum page reminding everyone to post only really breaking news.

WILCO - thanks for giving us a home Jim. In times like these I don't really know what we would do without this place.

Good idea. Lately, we've looked more like FNC where every story is an alert or breaking story.

While bumping this I'd like to offer a suggestion for a software enhancement. There should be a category available to you and the moderators that will keep announcements at the top without the need for constant bumping.

I think it would help to keep anyone that signed up in the last couple of days from posting a thread. I think there will be quite a few trolls around when war starts. IMHO

Thank you Jim.
As responsible as most Freepers are in their posting this reminder/note was needed.
Maybe a reminder like the "loose lips sink ships" reminder below the posting window would be a good idea while we are in the war phase. Something like, "Is it really Breaking News?"
God Bless
