The Quran is what one takes from it. The Bible has some nasty quotes as well. The American Islamists are in the year 2003 and realize that some of these quotes were for their own time (like the Bibles quotes about beating wives). The idiot Islamists, who are living in the 14th century and letting the Imans tell them what the book says, are he ones we have to worry about. I've read it as well and the Old Testament could be used the same way if we were, "A Religion of Peace." The difference is that we don't use our religion to control the masses and live in a free country.

I understand your point, but I'd counter it with this:

I can't speak for any denomination besides Catholicism, but we view the Old Testament (very simply put) as more a history, than a guide for conducting one's self.   The Gospels are a code of conduct, and having been through Catechism, reading the Bible cover to cover, and hundreds of homilies, I've never heard The Father say I was supposed to kill anyone (or even that it was at my discretion).

That being said,  I completely agree with your point on the islamists letting the imam fill their heads with ideas that may have been handy back in the 14th Century or earlier.

One other difference is that, except for the Ten Commandments, the Bible (OT) is not universally prescriptive. Believers are not directed to convert to Judaism or kill every non-believer they find. There are major parts of the Quran which specifically say just that. The instances where Moses' people are directed to lay waste are specific to certain peoples and times.

When you get the time, could you post a list of quotes from the Bible that condone beating wives? In my studies of the Scripture, I haven't ever seen those quotes. Thanks.

Islam isn't inherently any more evil a religion than Christianity, its just less advanced chronologically. Considering that six hundred years ago (or less) the various aspects of Christianity were constantly warring on other faiths (and indeed on each other), and considering the literal meaning of certain Leviticus and Deuteronomy verses, Jesus's admonition about throwing stones comes to mind.

One thing that's certain is that if we as conservatives or America as a nation declares all of Islam to be our enemy, it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy. I'd just as soon judge individuals as individuals regardless of their faith.

There are several Islam Q&A sites that pretty much offer the same responses to peoples' questions. Islam may have some followers who have fallen off the track but so have their leaders and the numbers are sizeable. Not all muslims are violent or antiSemetic but it is a falicy to believe that none are.

From Ask the Imam:

many muslims priase Hitler for killing jews, shoud they or are they wrong.

Islam has ordered us Muslims to fight against the enemies of Islam and not be like the Jew and make other nations fight their wars. We as Muslims may share in Hitlers hatered for the Jews but we cannot praise him for the manner in which he went about killing the jews (if the history books are correct). But rather we as Muslims are governed by the Shariah which prohibit the killing the old and the weak etc.

Is it permissible to wage (Physical War) Jihad against Israel, U.S. and India (for there role in Gujrat Muslims Carnage)?

Your question is a sensitive one.

It does not behove one person to issue a ruling on such a matter. It require one to exercise precaution and have broad consultation before arriving at a conclusion.

Is Osamah bin Laden is really a hero of Islamic Ummah? Do Taliban government of Afghanistan done right by demolishing the Buddah statues?

1. Usama ibn Laden is a practising Muslim, and thus, our brother in Islam. He has made many sacrifices for the Deen, in particular, the Jihaad of Afghanistan. While we respect him for this, we do not raise any person to any position, except that which Allah Ta'ala wishes.

2. He himself has denied involvement. Why should we then doubt him? Even if a billion Kuffaar say the opposite, the word of a single practising Muslim is more acceptable to us.

3. It was an Islamic duty for the Taliban to have destroyed the idols.

about the attack on usa

From the Darul Ifta - Plane Crashes in New York

According to the Shari'ah, in normal conditions, when there is no declaration of Jihaad, Muslims are required to conduct themselves in a dignified and honourable way. Their sound character and conduct should leave an impression in the hearts of non-Muslims that Islam is a religion of submission and subjugation to the orders of Allah Ta'ala which invokes the peace of Allah Ta'ala on earth. Thus, Islam is a religion of peace and is against any act that impedes peace.

Even, when there is a declaration of Jihaad (by competent and reliable Ulama, after having studied the situation and substantiating the need for Jihaad with Shar'ee reasons), it is prohibited to target and kill women, children and old people. Hadhrat ibn Abbaas (Radhiallaahu Anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) used to advise the army before dispatching them, 'Do not deceive, do not disfigure, do not kill children and those in churches.' (I'elaa-us-Sunan vol.12 pg.31; Idaratul Qur'aan)

It is clear from the aforegoing narration that the flight bombing of the twin towers of the World Trade Centre, New York and the Pentagon has no basis in Islamic Shari'ah. Therefore, as Muslims, we are required to adhere to the laws of the Shari'ah.

If Muslims perceive any injustices to them, they should create suitable channels and avenues to address such issues. If they are unsuccessful in their endervours, they should make Mashwara (consult) with the Fuqahaa (intelligent) and Aabideen (pious) people on the best course of action. It is against the spirit of Islam to make independent decisions as that may be dangerous to the course of Islam.

Please give me the true Islamic perspective on the suicide attacks in America.

(same response, but it shows that the term Jihad is a physical war, not a spiritual journey)

Is it allowed to obtain United States Citizenship so that travelling for deen becomes easier?

1. If your intention is solely to facilitate easier travel, you are permitted to obtain US citizenship. Although the oath of allegiance is un-Islamic in nature, it will not be treated as an 'Islamic oath'. Therefore, you are not compelled to execute the oath.

2. If you are called up to bear arms against Muslims, you are not permitted to do so by Islamic law.

3. The pledge does not constitute Ilhaad.

Is having a Slave (girl) for sex nowdyas is allowed?

A man may have intimate relations with his wife or slave girl. This applies no matter how many slave girls one may possess. He may not have intimate relations with his servant. A slave is one whom one physically owns. Since slavery is not in vogue nowadays, this does not apply today. Refer attached

It may, superficially, appear distasteful to copulate with a woman who is not a man's legal wife, but once Shariat makes something lawful, we have to accept it as lawful, whether it appeals to our taste, or not; and whether we know its underlying wisdom or not. It is necessary for a Muslim to be acquainted with the laws of Shariat, but it is not necessary for him to delve into each law in order to find the underlying wisdom of these laws because knowledge of the wisdom of some of the laws may be beyond his puny comprehension.

non muslims at my work want to know"WHY DONT WE EAT PIQ"they aware its haraam but critically want to know WHY?

Consumption of swine-flesh reduces the feeling of shame and as such the standard of modesty. Those nations, which consume pork habitually, have a low standard of morality with the result that virginity, chastity and bashfulness are becoming a thing of the past in Europe today. The number of unwed mothers is on the increase despite the use of pills and other contraceptives.

recently I've been talkin' to ‘jihadis’, who say if Islam brings me peace, I have chosen the wrong religion, they say blood of kafir is halal, it is permissible to kill any nonmuslim

The statement, 'promoted killing of non-Muslims' is vague and sweeping and is very much open to misinterpretation. Yes, Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) promoted the killing of these non-Muslims who are actively engaged in destroying Islam and the Muslims. This is the command of Allah Ta'ala Himself in the Qur'aan. This type of killing is not simply permissible, but commendable and worthy of reward. This does not mean that Islam teaches to kill all non-Muslims.

I have to make a choice whether I should work with jews. Is it allowed ir should we decline?

You may work with Jews. However, a person is affected by his environment. It is very easy to be influenced by their lifestyle and habits.

Therefore, if there are other job opportunities besides this one, we suggest you give preference to another job. If there are no other opportunities, you may continue working till you find another suitable job.

can a women cut her nails during menstruation?

It is Makrooh for a female to clip her nails during menstruation. However, if there is a valid reason for her to clip her nails in that state, for example, the nails are harmful to her child, then she will be excused.

As for the punishment of stoning a person to death, are we as Muslims supposed to also follow the rule of Jesus whom said "Only those of you who are sinless may cast the first stone"

As for the punishment of stoning a person to death, are we as Muslims supposed to also follow the rule of Jesus whom said "Only those of you who are sinless may cast the first stone". Or can someone who has sinned stone another person to death?

The Bible is replete with additions and inconsistencies. We are compelled to adhere to the Qur’aan and Hadith as our source of guidance and not the abrogated teachings of Eesa (Alayhis salaam).

Every human being except the Ambiyaa (Alayhis salaam) is a sinner. If we apply the aforementioned principle to the punishment of stoning, the penal code of Islam will fall apart. In short, sinners can also stone adulteress to dead provided the punishment is carried out within the Islamic framework of the penal code.

Second marriage possible under these conditions. i would like to marry a woman who is 12 years old, her father and she has also agreed. What is your advise?

i am 45 and married to already 15 years now after the sexual desire of my woman has nearly gone i am looking to marry again. And i would like to marry a woman who is 12 years old, her father and she has also agreed, my first wife told me that it could make problems if it will be a big different in age, and also some of my children are older than my second wife. What is your advise ? And is it allowed for me to have already sexual intercourse with these woman after we are married or to i have to wait till she reach at special age ?

According to the Shari’ah, if a girl is a minor (did not attain puberty), she may be given in marriage by her father. When she attains puberty, she has the right to maintain the marriage or discontinue the marriage. There is no age limit to be intimate with one’s wife even if she is a minor.

It is important for you, in your situation, to consider the age difference reservation expressed by your wife.

I think the response you gave to the man who is 45 and wishes to marry a 12yr old is purely wrong!! That is called a pedophile

Our answer is based on Shari’ah principles. What is your ideology based on?

If people in Adams(pbuh) time were 60+ ft tall, how come we never find any remains close to that tall.

Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said that 'Aadam (Alayhis salaam) was 30 Ziraa tall.'

Ziraa is a measurement and one Ziraa is approximately half metre. The Hadith is authentic and that is siffucient for us. Scientific and archeological evidences are subordinate to Hadith.

If US attacks Iraq what is the job of the muslim countrys in this reguard?

It will be their Fardh duty to fight the US.

I am a Muslim and I helped an Indian Intelligence Agency in thier operations, and I was made to think that the India Government truly is honest to muslims and respects them a lot. But off late my eyes are opened and i have seen the true colors of the Indian Government, and so i withdrew my services to them. In my ignorance i have committed some sins like passing on sensitive information pertaining to muslims to them, which they may have used against Muslims, so now how must i repent to Allah

The doors of Tawbah are always open. Continue making Tawbah and seek Allah's forgiveness. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) is reported to have said, 'A person who makes Tawbah is like a person who has not sinned.'

If it is haraam to commit suicide bombings?

Q: What is your opinion on the suicide bombers in Palestine? A: If a community is oppressed and denied its basic human rights, it is permissible for them to fight against the oppressors and free themselves from such oppression. It is permissible for them to engage in Jihaad - risking their lives in the hope of saving themselves from oppression. The people of Palestine are the most oppressed people and live in constant fear by the rule of the Jewish oppressors. Their extreme frustration and hardships have led them to behave likewise - to resort to suicide bombings. Assuming the suicide bombing is evil but this evil is opposed by a greater evil for which there is no adequate substitute, therefore, their act will also be justified as lesser of the two evils in terms of the Shari'ah.

The jews call their state "Israel",the Quraan refered to the jews as children of "Israel" 1400 years ago

The jews call their state "Israel",the Quraan refered to the jews as children of "Israel" 1400 years ago.Why have they named there state after the exact Quraanic reference ? Please give detailed explanation.

Israel is a Hebrew word, the equivalent of Abdullah in Arabic, which means the 'servant of Allah'.

This was the title given to Hadhrat Ya'coob (Alayhis salaam) by the Jews. He had 12 sons by which the Qur'aan makes reference to as 'al-Asbaat' (12 sons of Ya'coob) (Baqar Aayat136). The 12 tribes of Israel emerged from the progeny of these 12 sons. Hence, they are addressed in the Qur'aan as 'Banu Israaeel' (children of Israel, i.e. Ya'coob (Alayhis salaam)). So, it is clear that the Jews have been synonymous with the name Israel since before Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam), thus, before the revelation of the Qur' aan.

(I've heard this same complaint from antisemitic Christian arabs (Lebanese descent).

Me and my sister are going to go India Inshallah, but we hear that there are alot of jinns there, and people do black magic there alot, so is there any duaa that we can read everyday so that we can be saved from all this. And not only in India but even here in England incase? Jazakullah Mufti saab, for answering mine and everone`s question and may Allah Accept your time and Grant you more Knowledge. Ameen

Jinns are all over the world. Similarly, black magic is also practiced in many places besides India. In order to save oneself from the evils of Jinns and black magic, the following should be observed:

1. Stay in the state of Wudhu at all times.

2. Perform all Fardh Salaats on time.

3. Recite Aayaatul Kursi after every Fardh Salaat.

4. Recite the four Quls every night before sleeping.

Beware the Blue Djinn!

"The idiot Islamists, who are living in the 14th century and letting the Imans tell them what the book says, are he ones we have to worry about"

One of the problems is there are millions of the type you describe out there, and the Muslims who are not of their ilk don't seem to be willing or able to take a public stand against them. Here are a few questions for you:

1-Why are you making such an effort to convince Christians and other non-Muslims in America that Islam is a peaceful, tolerant religion, but making no such direct effort to convey the same into the Mosques in the US or the rest of the Muslim world?

2-Why are Christian churches banned in so many Islamic nations if Islam is so tolerant of all faiths?

3-Do you and your leaders encourage other Muslims to report suspicious behavior or conversation among your Muslim community? Are you assisting the FBI and police forces by turning in your errant Muslim brothers and sisters? Did any of you answer the call from the FBI for help in translating Arabic languages? If no, why not?
