Democrat Conyers to Protesters: Impeach Bush

March 17, 2003
WASHINGTON (GOPUSA News) -- On Saturday, thousands of protesters once again gathered in the shadow of the Washington Monument to hear speeches against war in Iraq as well as to express support for Palestine and demand universal health care. The rally was sponsored by the leftist organization, A.N.S.W.E.R. (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism).
Speakers from several other groups, including the Free Palestine Alliance, National Committee to Free the Cuba Five, and Queers for Peace and Justice took to the stage during the two-hour rally. There were calls for civil disobedience to begin Monday.
Congressman John Conyers (D-MI) addressed the crowd and urged them to "vote to impeach George W. Bush." Former Attorney General Ramsey Clark, founder of International Action Center, also called for impeachment, saying that the Bush administration is "committing the worst crimes known to humanity."
After the speeches, the protesters filled the streets to march around the White House. Marchers were kept at least a block from the executive residence by barriers and mounted police. Marchers made their way in a circular route back to the National Mall, but not before passing in front of a small group of loud pro-America counter-demonstrators from the Free Republic. They waved American and Marine Corps flags and shouted slogans such as "Swim to Cuba" and "War Freed the Slaves."
Congressman Steve King (R-IA) watched the march from Pershing Park and remarked that the protesters' message was "anti-American" and "anti-Bush." He observed that the flags carried by the marchers were those of Palestine, the United Nations, and even one of Japanese Revolutionary Communist League. More than one Gay and Lesbian rainbow flag was seen among the rally participants.
King noted that the only American flags in the march were desecrated in one way or another, some with the 60s peace symbol in the blue section usually filled with stars representing the 50 states. One flag had corporate logos instead of the stars. The Iowa congressman also noticed that the supposed cross-section of Americans that opposed the war were conspicuously absent.
When asked by GOPUSA News to comment on Conyers' call for the impeachment of President Bush, King said, "Where was Conyers when we had a president who deserved to be impeached?"

He is going to be one of the very brightest conservative stars in Congress in the years to come. You are right about that. The headline should read:

I saw this on c-span and the crowd sure got exicited when the speakers talked about impeaching Bush.
Then some gal spoke from the "support our troops network" and said how no children of Bush, Cheny or Powell were in the war (waited for applause - none given). How the military takes the kids from the poor working class of America (waited for applause - none given). Said that the anti-war protestors aren't against the military, they are for them - the poor kids that are over there fighting for "Bush's War for Oil" (waited for applause - none given). C-Span then went on a break.
It just proved to me that the crowd is not so much anti-war, but anti-Bush. The whole idea (and the media swallows it) that it's Bush this and Bush that (Bush sends ultimatum, Bush wants UN to...) makes it sound like Bush is the only one who wants Saddam to get out. They should be saying "The United States gives Saddam one last chance, etc....)

Ya wanna know the best part?
The liberals finagled things in the redistricting process to try and squeeze another RAT seat out of Iowa's five. (They held only one.)
One of the things they did was to try and pack as many Republicans into Iowa's new Fifth District as they could. It ended up with about 50,000 more Republicans than Dems.
Well, they failed...the GOP still has 4 out of 5 seats...and now Steve King holds an almost unassailable seat for the next ten years if the Lord wills and the crick don't rise! ;-)

When Ramsey "The Corpse Who Wouldn't Retire" Clark finally does die off, my husband would like to volunteer, as a former Marine, to dig his grave.
Having had the experience of digging similar things on bivouac, it'll be a fitting tribute to the former A.G. to rest beneath the "Ramsey Clark Memorial Two Seater Latrine"!

A Google Search reveals...
The Cuba Five are five Cuban men -- Rene Gonzalez Sehwerert, Ramon Labanino Salazar, Fernando Gonzalez Llort, Antonio Guerrero Rodriguez, and Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo -- who were sentenced to life terms in U.S. federal prisons for defending Cuba from terrorists based in Miami. They spent 17 months in solitary confinement. After their convictions, they were placed into Security Housing Units in total isolation, then were each sent to separate federal prisons.

I'm sure all of the Cubans who fled the chainsmoking maniac in Havanna are in support of freeing teh Cuban 5. Note how they are called the Cuban 5, by attaching the moniker "Cuban" they are trying to attach some perceived racism, but little do these nitwits know that most Cuban-Americans are anti-castro and thus republican. I can't wait till that dude dies, it is supposed to be nice down there.

I met him at our Christmas Party and then on Saturday, I just happened to recognize him standing alone on the hill. He was not there to say, "Here I am." I found out later that he had been downtown all day - - just being there. I'm very impressed.

I saw Nader speaking to this group and a few days ago foxnews ran a piece on PIRG...a little noticed fee attached to college tuition bills. PIRG stands for Public Interest Research Group = Ralph Nader. PIRG requires a reverse select to avoid...illegal for every other fund raising group.
Where does the money come from? If you have a kid in college it may be YOU.
A google search of Nader and A.N.S.W.E.R brings up 10 pages of results.
