I don't care about the UN and I don't want to see it revived. I want a stake driven through its dead heart. Sorry but I can't go along with the President on a future for the UN. Not after tomorrow.

Do you hear the people sing? Singing the song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!
Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?
Then join in the fight
That will give you the right to be free
Will you give all you can give
So that our banner may advance?
Some will fall and some will live
Will you come up and take your chance?
The blood of the martyrs
Will water the deserts of Iraq
Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!

"suggested that the twelve flags behind the leaders (the four flags repeated three times) had some great significance as a dishonest attempt to exaggerate the level of support the war might have in Europe."
You're kidding! Thanks for letting us know what CNN is up to.

<<Well, Mr. Jennings, we can certainly relate to your confusion because, Mr. Jennings, we're not sure why YOU are there either.
quote of the day nominee
I have always wondered the same myself.

I may be reading too much into this:
But, I read this as a direct message to France. If you veto we will reform the UN and remove you from the security council permanently. We need the UN more then we need a French veto.
Oh yes, the war begins despite what happens at the UN tommorrow. Tommorrow will decide whether the UN needs to be reformed.

"Tomorrow" is for Saddam to disarm, on his own. (not going to happen, he doesn't want to)
"Tomorrow" is also for the UN to make its sense known. Or not. (France on the spot, has already said it would veto, so a vote would likely show the UN against the action the US/UK/Spain is about to take)
Timing of hostilities won't be given away.

Hey! Fabulous that you lived in the Azores! What're' they like, those little islands? Well, they are pretty small. Lajes Field is where this meeting is and that's where we lived. It is Terceira Island, the third largest of the nine in the group. It is 10 mi x 18 miles. Green most of the year, hardly ever dropping below 50 degrees, and hardly above 85. But HUMID all year round. In the winter time, we got high winds on occasion (80-100 mph winds). Look out little kids ! You can imagine even at 55 degrees it would be cold with a wind like that. Waves hitting the island would peak at 35 feet when I was there.
I found the Portuguese people VERY friendly towards Americans, and I think that still prevails today. FOX News mentioned that this morning.
Terceira is the only Island I visited while there. Never got an opportunity to visit the others. It was a good experience for me. Thanks for asking . . .

Blair needs the cover of the UN, Bush doesn't. I think they are on the same page Well, that's where I've been on it for the last 2 weeks...but what I wonder, by this difference in comment, is how exactly on the same page are they? Sounds like there still might be some small disagreement that they've pushed aside while the train is leaving the station.

Bush plans to put the UN in a halfway house, handing out AIDS meds to starving Africans but no longer involved with security questions, after the vote fails tomorrow. That's smart: keep them around, still hoping for a comeback Yes.

. Travel advisory is definitely in order.Blix's next job will with Expedia.com.
He'll be booking a flight to Baghdad. When he hears Bush say "Tommorrow is it" shows him changing destination to Cancun.
