"According to FNC, Chirac is now saying that he is willing to bend slightly----30 day deadline."

Only if the inspectors agree... We know they won't when Blix is more concerned with the environment than war...

"Also, Germany is saying that the US will crawl back to the UN following action to ask for help in re-building."

Bush is throwing Germany a bone and everyone with any sense knows it to be true... Heck, what difference does it make anyway to have the UN help afterwards considering the US pays 22% of its operating budget...

So what is your take on why Bush kept saying "tomorrow" and "one more day" and Blair kept saying "this next period of time"?

Blair needs the cover of the UN, Bush doesn't. I think they are on the same page, 24 hours, but Blair wants the UN to do something and I think Bush has given up.

When? I had guessed Thursday privately, but now it may be sooner with a 24 hour deadline.

OK, so tomorrow we give the warning for the inspectors to leave? Or is THIS the warning that they should all get out?

Heheh. What ever happens will be spun with a socilist/liberal twist. As long as we break thier spirit and take their money, I'm okay with it.

Pretty clear. Monday is the UN decision. Follow the way the UN went in Kosovo or own up to the responsibilty of the security council.

I believe W left off the 'or else' on purpose. To not look to frency like.

Why don't you take a trip this week to Iraq and find out.

Now, now. Heh. Heh. Travel advisory is definitely in order.

Jennings: "We're not sure why they are there."

Well, Mr. Jennings, we can certainly relate to your confusion because, Mr. Jennings, we're not sure why YOU are there either.

It was heard AROUND THE WORLD.....UN...GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER
-------

Not much reported today, but the fine UNOs have said that they won't help in the people support programs if the UN does not agree to the War. I think this is what has pushed President Bush beyond calmness.

One of the cornerstones of his political views is the idea of service to those in need, and to have the UNOs turn openly political and away from their 'humanitarian' position is yet another body blow to W.

"He (Blair) is sacrificing his career for this, and he knows it."

After all the weapons are discovered in Iraq and all the horror stories reach the press, Tony will survie the war politically and remain in power. It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings, and she's just warming up offstage.

On FoxNews..(paraphrased)

German Emabassador wrote back and stated that it would be better for Germany if they 'held tight', let U.S. go in without Germany/UN ...and then when Germany will be in prime postion when the rebuilding of Iraq comes back to the counsel.

I sampled CNN for just a moment and instantly regretted it. A flustered Judy Woodruff--somehow both weepy and brassy--suggested that the twelve flags behind the leaders (the four flags repeated three times) had some great significance as a dishonest attempt to exaggerate the level of support the war might have in Europe.

CNN sucks.

Chirac is now saying that he is willing to bend slightly

I'm sure. He's been willing to bend over for Saddam for months.

Like the old saying says: "You can tell a German, but you can't tell him much." Duh... These idiots still don't get it. Iraq will PAY for most all of their reconstruction. The countries on board will benefit greatly by the economic shot in the arm. Germany and France can sit home and pout. Again, we win, and again they lose!
