COMBINED Live Thread: DC Chapter's Rally in Support of Our Troops / C-SPAN Live Coverage of Leftists
DC Chapter, Free Republic
Posted on 03/15/2003 6:23:04 AM PST by FreeTheHostages
Good morning. It's a beautiful day in the nation's capital, but the beauty is about to be marred by
Their leftist rally would be covered on CSPAN live starting at noon.
As explained here, here, their anti-American voices will not go unchallenged. The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic has invited all FReepers and lurkers in good standing to join us this Saturday, March 15, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. as we hold a patriotic counter-protest of the so-called anti-war march being held by IAC-A.N.S.W.E.R. in Washington, D.C.
I'll be staying at home, nursing a cold that has left me voiceless (hee hee, no doubt to the secret pleasure of many chapter members! ;), handling the live thread. Let's do a combined live thread on the C-SPAN coverage of the leftists and my reports from the field on what's going on with the Right guys, OK?
Today's early morning news, if you're waking up, is that some time before 10 a.m. on our local Channel 4 (NBC), our Chapter Warlord, Kristinn, will be interviewed on why we are expressing a support-our-troops message.
While professing to be against war and racism, the groups behind this march have strong overtones of anti-semitism and support communist governments that wage war on their own people and other nations.
The D.C. Chapter will be making a patriotic moral stand against the marchers' anti-Americanism and willful silence about the barbaric, terrorist regime of Saddam Hussein.
We will also be sending a message of support to our men and women in uniform fighting the war on terrorism overseas and on the home-front.
Survivors of Saddam's reign of terror, many of whom are American citizens, will join us to put the lie to those who claim that the Iraqi people do not want to be liberated and to speak out about Saddam's crimes against humanity.
When: Saturday, March 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: North sidewalk of Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, between 15th Street and 9th Street. Meet at 15th and Penn. at 1 p.m.
Bring: American and Gadsden flags (large and small), along with signs bearing messages supporting our troops, President Bush, America and the war on terror.
Weather: Mostly sunny, temps in the low 60s.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
TOPICS: Activism/Chapters; Breaking News; News/Current Events; War on Terror

Things will get busier starting around noon, but there's plenty of local pre-rally press coverage afoot. If you catch a glimpse of it, feel free to alert us.

Good morning, FTH. Sorry you are still under the weather.
Still planning to go to Valley Forge tomorrow? You will not need your vocal cords there! LOL! All that is required is your presence.
I'm looking forward to standing in opposition to the ANSWER CANSWER crowd today -- they are totally flummoxed when we stand up to them.

When I try to talk Bill into driving us up, he looks at me like I'm insane. (Hee hee, no comment.) I really am going to be bummed 'cause I realize tomorrow's less physically stressful, but it would probably be CRAZY for me to go. (Hee hee, which means you should probably look for me!)

I saw your post too late to tape the interview.
Did you or anyone else video tape Kristinn's interview?
If I can borrow a video tape of the interview, I can digitalize it and post it to the web.
Hope that you have a speedy recovery.

Yup, you guys are the other big focal point today.
MSNBC just said they're going to update Washington and San Francisco anti-war rallies in a moment.
If you guys want me to give you my cellphone number, I'll report any live updates from San Francisco to.
To: BillF
It must have been earlier in the hour -- I missed it! Thanks for volunteering though. MSNBC is just about to do an update on the numbers here in DC.

Kristinn was interviewed on Channel 4, he reports. I haven't seen the shot yet. Outdoor shot side-by-side with an Answer spokesman, and Channel 4 let Kristinn go first.
He explained that we were out to support the troops, and the organizers of these anti-war rallies are communist front group working with communist governments around the world. If they really cared about Iraqi people, they'd demand that Saddam Hussein step down.
He said the Answer spokesman seemed flustered by this comments. :)

While professing to be against war and racism, the groups behind this march have strong overtones of anti-semitism and support communist governments that wage war on their own people and other nations. Not only that, but they are PRO-war with respect to insurgencies and/or terrorism in such places as Columbia, The Phillipines and Palestine, at least under the thin veil of explicity supporting radical orgs closely related to anti-government or separatist military/terrorist forces. They are also support only a single (Palestinian) state outcome with respect to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, and are therefore OPPOSED to the Middle East peace process. At an earlier rally they vetoed a speech by the American head of the liberal peacenik organization Tikkun because (I suspect) it favors a two state solution.
