Formal efforts are now underway to impeach President Bush over allegations that a pre-emptive strike against Iraq constitutes "high crimes and misdemeanors," Roll Call, the newspaper of Capitol Hill, reported today.
A meeting Tuesday reportedly assembled more than two dozen prominent liberal attorneys and legal scholars who mulled over articles of impeachment drafted against President Bush by activists. The two-hour session was said to feature former attorney general-turned-activist Ramsey Clark and took place in the downtown office of a prominent Washington tort lawyer.
Participants said Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., who hosted the meeting, was the only member of Congress to attend.
"We had a pretty frank discussion about putting in a bill of impeachment against President Bush," said Francis Boyle, an Illinois law professor who has been working on the impeachment language with Clark

so when Bubba was getting his Lewinski's and selling out the country big time to China, the Demoratz turned their heads and begin whistling dixie.
Now that we have a Honorable, Christian, Republican President who believes in God and the Constitution of the United States - this man is hated beyond belief by the left and now being persecuted for trying to protect the lives of the citizens he's sworn to defend???

This is great news. I think every Democrat in Congress should get very vocal on this issue. They need to make sure that the public understands that the Democratic Party stands foursquare behind this proposal. |

High crimes and misdemeanors????
For what, protecting the United States, rather than selling us out to the Chinese, North Koreans, Panamanians, UN, EU, etc.?

Investigate the vast amounts of money the Opecker Princes and Islamofacist Thugs like Saddamn have given Ramsey Clark and the racist Conyer since the 1970's.
Clark sleeps with Soddomite. He was the one who arranged for Rather to hold the interview with what was probably a Soddomite double.
Clark should be tried for decades of high treason and sold to some lab for experimentation and dissection.

If it were today, and if it were a frank discussion, then these numbskulls had to note that a lawsuit filed by activists was JUST denied by some circuit appeals about the lack of a declaration of war.
If it were frank, they would note that republicans have majorities in the house and senate and on the supreme court.
There's just two choices: they're either stupid....or they're stupid.

Bush is beating the Democrats, the UN, and the Iraqis all at the same time by just feeding them enough rope to hang themselves.

These people are actually going to include our war in Afghanistan to get rid of the Taliban in their list of "high crimes". Like we don't have the right to hit back at the people who attacked us in the worst way a nation has ever suffered a terrorist attack. To think they would in any way distract the administration at a time like this is a disgrace. I know nothing will come of this, but it's still a disgrace.

Fine. Then we should also indict and convict both Xlintons for treason and being and traitor to this country.
And if I'm not mistaken the penalty for treason is DEATH !!
These people are nothing but a bunch of anti-American freaks.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Very little surprises me about Conyers, however. The best response here would be no response at all, and have this thread die out at about 20 posts.
But we will not be able to resist the need to post our incredulity. Myself included. I predict 500 posts.

Now that we have a Honorable, Christian, Republican President who believes in God and the Constitution of the United States - this man is hated beyond belief by the left and now being persecuted for trying to protect the lives of the citizens he's sworn to defend???The left rejected God a long time ago in favor of the cult of the state. Now they are faced with a head of state who rejects (sort of) the cult of the state in favor of morality and our Constitution. It's just driving them nuts. And if he is successful and Iraq and in the war on terror generally it will put the left in the dumpster for the foreseeable future. Hence, desperate acts like impeachment plans.
To: prophetic
My understanding is that you cannot impeach a President over matters of policy. Anyway, I think this is just grandstanding. It won't go very far and I think its a mistake to trivialize the impeachment process.

This is great news for our side. It further discredits the Left. It tends to discredit the Dems in general.
IMO, Bush ought to go to the trouble of making political hay out of this one. (He may elect to ignore it, though.)

Anyone see the irony here?
clinton was impeached so he pretended to start a war to distract the nation.
Now we need to actually fight that war so the liberals want to impeach Bush to distract us from the task.
And apart from that, Conyers is trying to impeach Bush for something Congress has authorized him to do. The man is blithering moron.
