I have been so looking forward to this...

Thank you for the information about Blue Star Mothers. I am so happy that this practice is being revived. What a shame that it was not popular during VietNam.

Great essay Mr. and Mrs. Ladtx-God Bless and keep your beautiful sons...

Billie, nice layout (as always). I really do like W's portrait imposed on the background...very moving.

Ohiowfan posted her blue star display on the Dose last night....Eric is still at Ft. Campbell but will be deployed soon. God Bless and keep Eric....

I got this via email and wanted to post it somewhere:

Samuel Thompson wrote:

I don't believe in Santa Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for

singing a Ho-Ho-Ho song in December.

I don't agree with Darwin, but I didn't go out and hire a lawyer when my

high school teacher taught his theory of evolution.

Life, liberty or your pursuit of happiness will not be endangered because

someone says a 30-second prayer before a football game. So what's the big

deal? It's not like somebody is up there reading the entire book of Acts.

They're just talking to a God they believe in and asking him to grant safety

to the players on the field and the fans going home from the game.

"But it's a Christian prayer," some will argue. Yes, and this is the United

States of America, a country founded on Christian principles.

And we are in the Bible Belt. According to our very own phone book,

Christian churches outnumber all others better than 200-to-1. So what would

you expect -- somebody chanting Hare Krishna? If I went to a football game
in

Jerusalem, I would expect to hear a Jewish prayer. If I went to a soccer

game in Baghdad, I would expect to hear a Muslim prayer. If I went to a

ping pong match in China, I would expect to hear someone pray to Buddha.

And I wouldn't be offended. It wouldn't bother me one bit. When in Rome...

"But what about the atheists?" is another argument. What about them?

Nobody is asking them to be baptized. We're not going to pass the

collection plate. Just humor us for 30 seconds. If that's asking too much,

bring a Walkman or a pair of ear plugs. Go to the bathroom. Visit the

concession stand. Call your lawyer. Unfortunately, one or two will make

that call. One or two will tell thousands what they can and cannot do. I

don't think a short prayer at a football game is going to shake the world's

foundations.

Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our

courts strip us of all our rights. Our parents and grandparents taught us

to pray before eating, to pray before we go to sleep. Our Bible tells us

just to pray without ceasing. Now a handful of people and their lawyers are

telling us to cease praying. God, help us. And if that last sentence

offends you, well..........just sue me. The silent majority has been silent

too long.. it's time we let that one or two who scream loud enough to be

heard, that the vast majority don't care what they want.. it is time the

majority rules!

It's time we tell them, you don't have to pray.... you don't have to say
the

pledge of allegiance.... you don't have to believe in God or attend services

that honor Him. That is your right, and we will honor your right.... but
by

golly, you are no longer going to take our rights away ..

we are fighting back.. and we WILL WIN!

After all the God you have the

right to denounce is on our side!

God bless us one and all, especially those who denounce Him...

God bless America, despite all her faults.... still the greatest nation of

all.....

God bless our service men who are fighting to protect our right to pray and

worship God...

May 2003 be the year the silent majority is heard and we put God back as the

foundation of our families and institutions.

Keep looking up......

In God WE Trust

The Elijah List is a regular publication I receive, and the one arriving today is quite relevant to things our President expressed last night.
It gives pause for thought and action, even admonishing us to not judge those who do not agree with our views.

It must be that
Each of us is one of His Works in Progress!!!

====================================================
As President Bush Spoke this evening of being comforted by the Prayers of thousands of people . . .
========================================================

Dear Elijah List Readers,

This list now goes to about 72,000 of you. Please forward this to as many of your friends as you can.

As Our President spoke tonight of being comforted by "thousands" (it's probably literally millions) who are praying for him regarding this potential war with Iraq, I thought of the UN'S resolution 1441 that everyone has talked about . . . the resolution which requires Sadaam Hussein to disarm or BE disarmed . . ..

---I don't know if I heard this somewhere or from someone else (maybe I did and can't remember from whom I heard it) . . . nevertheless, I was suddenly drawn to Psalm 144:1 (from Resolution 1441 -- God doesn't waste ANY word or any thought).

======================
Here is what it says:
======================

Ps 144:1
Blessed be the LORD my Rock,
Who trains my hands for war,
And my fingers for battle --
(NKJV)

I felt led to make this call to increase our prayers for President Bush in this hour!

Please forward this to all you know who love to pray for this country.

When the Lord is the ROCK of the King or the President . . .
When the Lord Trains his hands for War and his fingers for battle . . .
----this is what the Lord (among other things) includes in that training:

1) Brilliant strategies regarding how to overtake the enemy by surprise (Should we need to war with Sadaam Hussein)

2) A Sudden "uncovering" of the enemy's secret plots and vicious plans of attack, both in Iraq and on our USA soil

3) An exposing of accomplices who are not yet known--who are aiding Sadaam against the USA

4) A confusing of the enemy so that he fights against himself--rather than against the USA and her allies

5) Strategies which protect ALL innocents on both sides. In this case, our prayers should be that "IF" we MUST go to war, that the innocents in Iraq are completely protected and the soldiers who are following orders and acting righteously (on both sides) are also protected.

6) That all innocent civilians on U.S. Soil and those of our allies are protected supernaturally.

Pray Psalm 91 regarding the USA and our allies in conflict with Iraq, should war break out
Pray Psalm 144:1 regarding the USA and our allies in conflict with Iraq, should war break out

================================================
AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THOSE WHO DISAGREE
=================================================

Good people "on both sides" will find themselves in disagreement with how the USA handles this situation. In Prayer, our job is not to judge those who disagree with our going to war (or not). For instance, we must NOT find ourselves criticizing, if a given celebrity is vocal against this war, while another may not be against it. Judgment on our part...as people who pray . . .judgment AGAINST those who disagree with our position (whatever it is) -- is NOT pleasing to the Lord. Confess your judgments against those who disagree and bless them in prayer. That WILL be pleasing to the Lord and will truly "be" Christian.

Pray for President George Bush...according to Psalms 91 (See www.ministriestothenations.org) and Psalm 144:1

Also, Yes, please forward this to your own lists and post on your own website(s). Others may subscribe to THE ELIJAH LIST by sending an email (to receive similar words and calls to prayer) to: subscriptions@elijahlist.com or by going to: http://www.elijahlist.com
