These women are still afraid of the long arm of Al Qaeda reaching them in this country.

You've missed a LOT of hot air. Colin Powell is the only one who is speaking with any amount of substance and fact. He is referring to the new report (167 pages?) - where the others are just spewing the same old propaganda. Mexico is a fence-sitter....
The whole thing is a real test of patience. The US and the UK have gone above and beyond the call of duty in dealing with this UN circus, IMHO.

Just wait when NK starts aimming their little bombs near China!! OMG, this little farce is going to bite them in the ass!!

Is it my TV set or is it the Fox channel that makes Monsieur Frenchbot look like he has a 'milk moustache? I noticed it last night, and again today.
I can't stand milk moustaches, so this is a double whammy!

The French guy went after the US, without mentioning the US by name, for inducing a clash of civilizations and trying to remake the Middle East. In said that the Arabs (without mentioning the Arabs) needed to gain self confidence to productively engage with the West.

Fully agree. It's time for us to gear our participation to the view we hold of it: contempt.
We should not quit, as that gives our enemies a bully pulpit to pass "binding" resolutions attacking us. We should remain a member, ready to use our veto to prevent such nonsense. Our representive should be a very junior foreign service officer, who does nothing other than listen to debates, saying nothing except when it's necessary to say "The United States exercises its veto". Perhaps it should be a bright, pretty young graduate of the Foreign Service school at Georgetown, giver her an expense account and let her enjoy living in New York, as long as she does her job.

Polish vodka is excellent, and Poland incidentally, is the birthplace of vodka.
I love Stolichnaya, but they can keep it now. I'll have a bottle of this:

The "new" report is the one Blix hasn't submitted to the SC. He's hiding it.

So, what have I missed, or is it about what we expected? It's better- I was afraid they would give in and save the UN.
Looks like they think they are falling for the old "misunderestimating" trick.

I saw that -- they fear for their lives. And here are the appeasers of the UN saying that Saddam is disarming -- how about his other atrocities -- guess they don't matter to these UN wimps!

"War is always an acknowledgement of failure" So what if it is? Failure of what? Failure of the process of appeasement? Do they still think we should have let Germany overrun them? Maybe they do. When one fails one SHOULD admit it, and fix the problem.
That kind of irrational thinking by the French is beyond me. Translates "war is an acknowledgement of failure" to "let's just keep ourselves in a state of denial, that's called progress!"
We all want progress, but if you're on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive. --C. S. Lewis
