WHO THE HELL ELSE LOOKS LIKE HER The closest I can come is the late Anne Ramsey (perhaps best known for her role in the movie "Throw Momma From the Train". Maybe we can Photoshop the video dust jacket from that movie and change it to President Bush, Ari, and Helen Thomas, with the title "Throw Helen From the East Room".

You are right on the money. It was a weak, shallow, decadent and ungrateful society that elected Bill Clinton.
But the truth has a nasty habit of getting out. And it is better to regulate that release, control the timing, to admit it, than it is to be found out a liar.
I'd hate to be in Bush's shoes. It is a massive weight.
I hope this society gets set right. Maybe now isn't the right time, but there will never be an easy time. Surviving stress makes a person, and a society stronger. We certainly do live in interesting times, and places like FR make it quite a rush.

PKM, I didn't see or hear the speech tonight (middle school girls soccer tournament), so I have a question. We all know without the US, there is no UN. Do you get any feeling that Bush will make the ultimate step and pull the plug on the US/UN relationship if they continue to pull for the wrong team?
If they prove themselves to be irrelevant, then what is the purpose of funding them or having a membership for that matter?
To: meyer
North Korea is unlikely to use its nuclear weapons, I agree -- unless, of course, it is invaded, as certain posters seem to want.
To: Alberta's Child
Oh no ya don't! I ain'ta gonna go into another discussion with you about the poor judges an lowyers, once again!

Anytime Teddy opens his piehole in public in regard to Dubya, GWB should simply offer a rebuke of screeching car noises followed by a splash. Drunken f*cker. If he wasn't a Kennedy, he have been left to rot in a cheap motel with a bottle of CVS mouthwash for a cocktail years ago. I can't blame him though. If my high school guidance counselor gave me the choice of US Senator or Macy's Parade Float, I'd have picked the Senate too. Besides, who needs a parade float that keeps pulling to the left?

Chris Matthews had me sworn of MSNBC, but the Ex Congressman from Fla. is a winner!!
MSNBC has figured out which side their bread
is buttered!
How did the idiot debating Rob Portman
ever get elected!

Reagan was more eloquent and a more adroit communicator. He was my hero.
Don't forget President Reagan was an actor for over 40 years,so of course he was a great communicator. He also had a very beautiful voice.

I don't know that we won't have to invade North Korea, but I would remind churchillbuff that we've tried intense diplomacy, sanctions, and even force against Saddam for well over a decade, before it came to this.
The argument that we have to do everything simultaneously if we do anything at all is a specious argument frequently floated by the left. Each situation is different, and we didn't hit every beach in WWII at the same time and in the same manner. It's rather silly if you think about it.
To put it another way, it's pretty obvious that the situation in North Korea is still developing, while the situation in Iraq is rather mature, and the diplomatic avenues have been exhausted. The UN hasn't even taken up the NK developments at this point.
Iraq doesn't have a million man army poised 40 miles from a strategic capital of one of our allies. That obviously has to be taken into account, yet it never is by those who ask this question.

I saw Helen sitting there "near" Ari Fleischer, her boy toy. She dyed her hair very, dark brown - maybe that's what's throwing everybody.

Imagine Clinton playing this card game for us. No thanks. Or Al Gore. I'll pass. Or anyone here posting tonight? Sorry, I'll let Cool Hand George run this game. Best George W. Bush quote I've ever heard -- I wish I knew the source:
"He's got all the confidence of a Christian holding four aces in his hand."

What has been said so far that would be considered moving the ball forward on Iraq? IMO, it's Chess. Or Poker. Definitely NOT Football.

it will never be able to expect its citizens to go through life with a straight face as long as that jackass from Arkansas is a free man. I hear ya .. but unless there is hard cold evidence that will knock over the most brain dead people in this country over .. there is not a chance in the world that this country will put a former President in jail

I do think both scenarios are possible but I really have a problem with all these alerts and precautions we are supposed to be adhering to and living our lives by when the one thing, the first thing, that should have been done was to seal our borders. Why hasn't this been done? Why are we, as American citizens, expected to sacrifice for our liberites while all others are granted free reign?
To: Sparky760
This will get interesting if Sharpton stays the course.
To: Alberta's Child
Strong societies do not elect a jackass from Arkansas with a disco haircut and a personality disorder to be their leader Very funny, even if it refers to such a dark, dark time. It is not by accident that the President and Vice President have said multiple times that they won't leave problems for future administrations.
