Maybe it's because NK already has nukes, and we can't invade without about a million South Koreans dying?Actually, its because Iraq is very likely to use any WMD, including nukes while N. Korea is highly unlikely to use them.

What he said was a sincere and logical explaination why disarming Iraq improves the security of freedom-loving families around the world, for they were his audience. Amen.

Howlin thanks for the thread. It was a great conference.
Bush was: Measured, precise, calm. Determined, concerned, resolute. Confident. Tired. Speaking of his faith. Of prayers. Speaking of his knowlege of evil. His job about Protecting America. He swore on the Bible to protect America. Holding other countries accountable.
A decision has been made. History is being made. God bless President Bush and his excellent team.
thanks fellow FReepers, g'night all.

Well said!

Maybe you'll get it when the damn nuke drops on your dumb head
So you think it's "dumb" to be skeptical about preemptive war against a country that, however bad, hasn't attacked us?
Guess that makes Bush a "dumb head" for not favoring preemptive war against the N Koreans.

I was struck that this was an authentic account of what GB feels and thinks. There were no lies, no splitting hairs, no dissembling, no distraction. He was tired and somber,,he is at peace and an honest man. We are so very fortunate. I think his very grown upness, he is a real man, is what makes people just crazy. Sort of like you always wanted to take on your Dad, wanted to argue with him, but he was always right and he was in charge. I think that makes people like Church just crazy.

As many have said, Bush plays poker.... the Russians play chess. Poker face wins most times. In politics, poker is king. In war, chess is king. That's why Bush has Donald Rumsfeld for his chess player.

The president took pies from the clowns and stayed on message, calm, strong, impassioned yet quietly so.
We are blessed to have such a transcendent leader.
Twenty fools tried to derail him and he would not be derailed.
He has our security in mind, his oath, the safety of our troops.
I had a little chat at the car wash today with a vocal critic whose arguments dissolved as I pursued them.
There is no logical reason to not remove Saddam Hussein.
The proposition is not either/or vis a vis Iraq and North Korea; it is both.
The connection between Iraq and North Korea and Iran and terrorists recurs in any examination.
Godspeed swift victory and safe return to our people.
Those who sport the NO WAR bumper stickers are asking for major trouble.

"He said nothing to the UN Security Council. They were not his audience." I think you are wrong here. Bush basically told the UN they will have to vote and choose sides. He also told them the US will do what we need to do, without their "vote".

Do you have any sources?Your theories are extremely interesting.

In other words, you don't have any evidence that Iraq is behind 9-11Over the last 2 years there have been a lot of threads that link Iraq to Al-quaida. Where have you been?

Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. Proverbs 26:4 Excellent - and I must add, Glock does rock!

There is a method to the madness of allowing opposing views on the programs.......in case the so called 'fairness doctrine' is reinstated those programs will be safe!

DOH!!! September 11, 2001 was not a pre-emptive attack on us?
I give up. You are too dumb to live.

Don'tcha wonder what was on the computer and in the papers of those creeps we just picked up?? Anything to do with tonights speech?? I think we'll be picking up a few more guys in the next few days. Even if they find Usama, and hopefully make him dead, I do not think we will know right away.
I still believe Usama is dead but that #2 man would be nice.

My sister thinks that W is a war monger. Why? She doesn't have cable. And tonight, President Bush said that he prays for peace (and was sincere when he said it), he said war was a last resort, but sometimes a necessary and less painful action than to not. And, he said so on all the national networks. I hope your sister was watching.

I don't think Helen was there tonight...she must be getting her beauty sleep.Apparently, she suffers from insomnia.

By OSB, not Saddam (unless you have evidence nobody else has offered)
