You are right on the money. It was a weak, shallow, decadent and ungrateful society that elected Bill Clinton.

But the truth has a nasty habit of getting out. And it is better to regulate that release, control the timing, to admit it, than it is to be found out a liar.

I'd hate to be in Bush's shoes. It is a massive weight.

I hope this society gets set right. Maybe now isn't the right time, but there will never be an easy time. Surviving stress makes a person, and a society stronger. We certainly do live in interesting times, and places like FR make it quite a rush.

It was a weak, shallow, decadent and ungrateful society that elected Bill Clinton . . . I hope this society gets set right.

I hate to disappoint you, but this country is 11 years weaker, shallower, and more ungrateful than it was in 1992. The embers at Ground Zero were still warm when the people of this country decided that it was time to move on to "more important" things like prescription drug plans for seniors, and the people of New York decided that the most pressing issue in New York City was a smoking ban in bars and restaurants.
