Is it because the bible-thumpers demand a war ...Get real.
To: churchillbuff
churchill...real simple...there are no Al Qaidas in NK.
there are in Iraq.
NK is only exporting scuds...
Ricin has been in Europe thanks to SH.
After we finish, quickly, with SH, KIS is next.
He's a dead man if he doesn't wise up. Not his people...just him.

The other take is that the UN has lost all credibility (short trip I know) and is totally irrelevant. Now, get the hell out of New York.

Did you miss the Gulf War? We have gotten better, the Iraqis just got running water back 3 years ago.
The desert is a lousy place to wage chemical/bio war...
You can't hide from thermal imaging eqipment in the desert...
Very hard to dig deep in the sand...
Saddam's army has already learned two basic lessons from our last war, fight and die in a quick and messy way, or surrender and live... I doubt that they have forgotten this.

your particular cowardice in connection with iraq,
then that makes Bush a "coward" with N Korea, because he doesn't favor an invasion. All I want is the same containment policy that Bush favors for N Korea, applied to Iraq. A Martian coming to earth would not be able to understand why freepers care so much about Iraq - which isn't openly threatning war against us - while pooh-poohing N Korea, which is threatning to nuke us. It's crazy - until you realize that it's fundies who make the Book of Revelation and the Middle East mania their guide for foreign policy.

**- The President (and many of his top people) are increasing using the past tense - the decision HAS been made.**
Tim Russert on MSNBC just agreed with that---decision has been made. FWIW

No, they correctly identified him. I know that because I initially mistook Jim Angle as a CNN type - and I raised my eyebrows when he was labeled as Fox News as he asked his question.

Hi Howlin...
Didn't he say there was some kind of vote tomorrow?? A vote on whether or not Iraq is noncompliant with the resolution?
I think, regardless of that vote, that's when we hit. After that vote.

there are no Al Qaidas in NK. there are in Iraq.
Yes, in the Kurdish region, which Saddam doesn't control.

* shakes his head in exasperation * I honestly don't get you people. From reading your responses one gets the impression that you would be content to wait another 12 years. Do you honestly think we need to "buy more time" before we take action? Do you really believe that more debate is required? Do you really think the same points need to be repeated ad nauseum indefinitely before we even admit that we are going to war? I'm seriously confounded by such counsel and actually quite disheartened. We should be seriously concerned with the mismanagement of this venture.
Fair point. Twelve years - a lot of time to wait. Let me make the following case, not knowing any special intelligence information as to our troop readiness for war against Iraq. But I don't think our Administration would waste one single minute in debating the issue if it would harm our ability to achieve complete success. You have a good point, I don't have enough information to answer it adequately. But I trust him on this.

NO Helen ThomasShe was complaining to Ari about not having access to the President. Was she invited/allowed to attend tonight, or did she go to bed early so that she has the strength to bellyache some more tomorrow?

"Bush is clearly rejecting the United Nations" My President was clear as glass. In America when we serve, we swear to protect the Constitutionand America, not some United Nations with Libya in charge of human rights.

absolutely no idea.
I don't buy into the reasoning that his demeanor , body language, tone, facial expressions etc. are just a result of the weight of responsibility of sending troops into action or lack of sleep.
Grave days are ahead.
Make sure you have duct tape.
