Debating time is past, pasting time is here.
To: Howlin
Not yet Howlin. We're all so anxious to get this over with, but it's not just yet.
This is the prelude to let the world know that we're going in and they'd best vote to go with us or they'll be standing alone. I expect the resolution to pass tomorrow and the war will begin right afterwards.

And now MSNBC just announced W is not having his speech next week it will be at 7pm CST tonight!

I agree. I think all Bush is going to say tonight is that he is going to give one last (last, last, last, last, last...) to the U.N. to step up and one last [put a thousand "lasts" here] to Saddam to "completely disarm" (that statement is getting annoying too).
Just my own opinion, but I think he's concerned about the political fallout of going without the acquiesence of the U.N. And I think we underestimate how important that is amongst the multitudes of "politically unwashed" in this country. A whole generation of leftist education has had its effect on us...we're only about a generation behind France is pacifist sentiment.
I think Bush is concerned enough to give "the international community" yet another chance to give him the cover he wants. And that's what I think he will do tonight.
Just my opinion.

Buh-bye Saddam. See you in Hell. Why, are you planning on being there to meet him? ;o)

Can we stop the stupid misspellings on this site? I know it's a form of "I'm an in-the-know Freeper," but it is getting so old, and trivializes important things.
When word came out about the 100 people burned to death in that club a couple of weeks ago, people were light-heartedly playing around with the "Freeper Misspellings." Can we just get over it? Yeah, I've got little sense of humor when it comes to 100 people dying, or a war with Iraq.

Remember back in Gulf War I that TV news clip of the college basketball game (at the Citadel?) where the announcer states: "The liberation of Kuwait has begun." The crowd lets loose an incredible cheer that goes on and on and on.
Anyway, the bombing started during an evening college basketball game on the east coast--so maybe 7:30 or 8:00 pm EDT.

Blah, blah, blah.... Same old stuff. All we'll hear this evening is, Iraq is bad because...., This is their last chance... ad nauseum. It is getting real old, real fast. I know that the guys that are waiting at the front lines really have to be getting sick and tired of all this hurry up and wait.

When word came out about the 100 people burned to death in that club a couple of weeks ago, people were light-heartedly playing around with the "Freeper Misspellings." I did find THAT inappropriate. However, when the topic is actually not serious, why not let your fellow Freepers take a shower or two while you move on to a more contemplative thread?
(Granted, the topic of this thread is quite momentuous, but since we are expecting the President to deliver good news, I don't object to a little humor while we are waiting.)
