Thank you for posting that address. I sent it to everyone in my address book. I urge everyone here to do the same!

"ideologue"
noun [C]
An ideologue is a person who believes very strongly in particular principles and tries to follow them carefully.
Cambrige dictionary
What is wrong with that? Oh, yeah....I forgot, the Democrats don't like principles, they like BJ Clinton instead.
To: anoldafvet
Said he wassssssssss, what, a liberal or moderate? Either way, the good folks of Indiana get screwed anytime the name "Bayh" comes up in anything!

I love it! Kerry isn't "jewish enough". Ann Coulter said it best in her column 'Will of Allah' pre-empts Iraq invasion:
Poor Kerry was just on the verge of figuring out whether he was for war with Iraq or against war with Iraq when he was told he hadn't figured out his own last name. Kerry was shocked to be told that, despite years of allowing himself to be passed off as an Irish Brahmin, both his paternal grandparents were Jewish and his real name is Kohn. Upon reflection, however, Kerry said there were signs he missed, such as his longtime, recently requited desire to marry a rich shiksa.

called 2 Graham offices today and told them it was outrageous he would run for President but not listen to his voters. They were pretty mad and all but hanged up on me! YES! KEEP CALLING SENATOR GRAHAM!
One of Graham's aids said he would be there next week to vote. She said he didn't support the filibuster. I asked him if he would vote to invoke cloture, and got a typical Dem say nothing type answer. I think Graham has to know he's in deep trouble here in FL if he doesn't vote for Estrada!

We had a freep at the fed court house in Fresno yesterday lead by Hispanics. It was so cool. My sign said "Free Miguel". No media coverage. Anyway, we did something. There were about 40 of us. I tried to call Feinstein's office this morning but her recording said that after two minutes I'd be cut off so I had to hang up. Sheeeesh. Anyway, it won't do any good to call Feinstein or Boxer. They're hopeless. I HATE CALIFORNIA SOMETIMES! Go, Estrada! For victory & freedom!!!

Find your Senator>Click on name>Contact.
Many senators list a fax; some do not.
This is one useful starting place.

FYI to all, just a report that Judge Andrew Napolitano opines on John Gibson's THE BIG SHOW on Fox that if the Republicans would go to 24/7, it would break the filibuster promptly as a lot of Democrats are doing this for "show."
Hopefully we can get to the same place the way it's being carried out, there's got to be a lot of pressure on some of these Democrats.
To: Saundra Duffy
awesome rally! that rally is 100 times better than calling Feinstein. We need to raise awareness of Estrada.
But, perhaps you could call my senator, Bob Graham!

To: GOPrincess
They should have made the Dems go 24/7 two weeks ago. The Dems play for blood, why can't we?
To: Saundra Duffy
Great job!!
Apparently thousands came out to see Sean Hannity in Redondo Beach today -- at times chanting "USA!" -- like Sean said, although the media had been notified, did they show up? Nooo. Amazing how the media will come out to photo a dozen anti-war protestors but 40 people show up to protest the Democratic treatment of Estrada and the media look the other way.
Thanks to you and everyone else who showed up at that FReep! :)

One of Graham's aids said he would be there next week to vote. She said he didn't support the filibuster. Major Garrett, who has been a bit aggravating with his reporting, just reported that Graham will vote for cloture. He then pointed out this would still be four votes shy of ending this. He said the dems have vowed this will never happen.
I think this last was not stated explicitly by the dems, but of course, could be the way it plays out.
Finally, Garrett--backing off finally from reporting a cave by the Republicans--said the dems holding firm would leave the the Estrada nomination in limbo for perhaps months.

Good question! I consider using DEPMA as a signal that the poster better not post to me again and I would certainly call it abuse!
To: cyncooper
I am with you on Garrett! He doesn't have the foggiest idea of what goes on in the Senate and reports like he does. I swear he gets his info from the RATs!
I didn't catch it at the end of Hume's show, but didn't Fred Barnes intimate that the GOP is not being aggressive enough with this confirmation? I think that's his present opinion. Basically that teh DEMs will stand firm in the face of repeated cloture votes. I suppose they would, if the political heat is absent. Political heat being teh risk of enough votes to cost them reelection.

I don't think that would work, because in order for the amendment to be voted on, you would need unanimous consent to bring it to a vote, correct? That's why we can't bring the Estrada nomination to a vote. the 1-2 Demons on watch would dissent, and you couldn't schedule the vote then. You're only recourse would be to try for cloture on the discussion of the amendment, but then that petition has to wait for 2 days. It's a vicious cycle.
The only way to fix it is either for:
a) some of the junior senators to question the constitutionality of the 1975 rule change to cloture (that changed it from being 2/3 of the senators present and voting to 3/5 of the entire senate). That's the one that screwed this whole thing up. I can't remember which thread I read about in on.
b) Elect at least 60 republicans in the 2004 and then fix it.
