The best way to SEE advise and consent at work is to go to the American Memory Site at the Library of Congress.
ALL the Congressional records are available from the beginning of time of our government.
It's a great way to learn how this works.

However, with that said, I do not want to see the confirmation of Presidential nominee become a partisan issue. Please rest assured that I will work hard to ensure that all nominees are reviewed fairly and voted on in a timely manner." I read this that he supports a full Senate vote but that he will vote against.

We need to lean on the moderate DemocRATs to vote Yes to end the cloture and not worry about getting them to vote YES on Estrada. We have 55 votes to pass his nomination -- we need their votes to invoke cloture.

Feinstein has now added due diligence to advice
and consent to the Constitution!!

"Thanks to the Democrats' obstructive actions in the last 3 years or so, it seems the whole country is learning much more about the pecularities of their federal and state governments."
And this most certainly is NOT what they wanted. Can't keep the dirty masses blindly voting Democratic if they learn how things work in this country.

Here is the list from NRSC:
The target list includes Sens. Bob Graham of Florida, Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas, Evan Bayh of Indiana, Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico, Mark Pryor of Arkansas and Thomas R. Carper of Delaware, said top Republican aides.
A senior Republican Senate aide and an administration official said Sens. Mary L. Landrieu of Louisiana and Ernest F. Hollings of South Carolina are being targeted as well. Sen. John B. Breaux of Louisiana, one of the four Democrats opposing a filibuster, is taking the lead in lobbying Mrs. Landrieu, another Senate Republican leadership aide said.

I knew last Friday that Rush hadn't kept up to the knowledge level of FReepers on the Estrada nomination in the Senate, regarding the strategery of Frist et al.
At least he will correct his remarks whenever he realizes that he may have misled or misinformed his listeners.
I think he started the show with his 'revised remarks' today.

Advice and Consent means 51 for passage of nominations. What part of that does she not understand?
Don't you love it how Anti-Constitutional, Anti-Hispanic DemocRATs try to twist the Constitution to fit their agenda?

Baucus:
Baucus: I cannot in good faith, exercising my duty under the Constitution, vote to confirm a man who refuses to answer any meaningful questions... I do not want to see the confirmation of Presidential nominee become a partisan issue.Hmmm...He won't vote to confirm, but he doesn't want partisanship.
That leaves him only one option..go along with a vote up or down. Go along with a vote to end filibuster.
Does he strike you as the logical type?

Feinstein:
She is spending her entire time fighting for why Senate Rules, stupid as they are, and arbitrary as they, are important.
She is complaining about the Hatch moveout of the three nominees last week over objection of minority, mainly Sutton.

Has anyone brought up Estrada's offer to answer any questions that the Senators may have? Where do we stand on that?
