Well, since we seem to be in uncharted waters, I'm sure you're right.

I think a lot were confused about how it works, but I think most of us understood that it wasn't the end of the nomination.

Alert: Judge denies D.C. snipers motions in court today.

"People need a bit of faith in Republicans, they are working dillegently"

Amen! I'm so proud of the way our guys are fighting this, that I called up the NRSC and sent them some money this afternoon. Told the young man that I was donating precisely because I'm proud of the way they are conducting themselves on the Estrada nomination.

The 13-day siege of the Alamo ended on March 6, 1836, so this is probably an anniversary tribute to its defenders.

Yes. Rush got it straight on cloture....and he also got it straight on..." talking about the article he relied on last Friday as being less than accurate on the Estrada nomination."

We all know that was the Fox article. 'Bout time, no?

Less than accurate = Wrong?

What they have been saying is that calling for a cloture vote sets up the precedent that a filibuster can be used against a judicial nominee. The GOP has been loathe to admit that, once they call for sloture they are in effect admitting that judicial nominees are filibusterable.

Feinstein, first Dem I've heard call this a filibuster (yeah, I know mute isn't on)

Some of us decided we need a chart to keep it straight!

Which means no one is lying because whatever we discuss isn't stright but all a bluff lol

The only way we win is to make the rats either filibuster 24/7 and shut down the govt in a time of war, or just do the vote and get them on record as I said last week. Since that will make the democrats all racist. We can slam em but GOOD in 2004..

As I said day one the rats will lose big time on this...one way or the other........

Did Feinstein just say this is a "filibuster" on Miguel Estrada? I thought the RATs were not admitting that.

Now she's started talking about the Ninth Circuit. I wonder what she'll say about the Pledge decision.

I had to go retrieve the email from my trash :)//Max Baucus D Mt/Here's directly from his email.." I cannot in good faith, exercising my duty under the Constitution, vote to confirm a man who refuses to answer any meaningful questions by members of the Senate Judiciary Committee at his confirmation hearing. For this reason, I will vote no when his nomination comes to the Senate floor. However, with that said, I do not want to see the confirmation of Presidential nominee become a partisan issue. Please rest assured that I will work hard to ensure that all nominees are reviewed fairly and voted on in a timely manner."

I think I freaked out the guy next to me at the light -- when Rush said "less than accurate" I let out a cheer like we had scored basket. I looked at the car next to me and the guy just stared at me!

"Less than accurate" was being too kind!

That sounds like BAUCUS would NOT support a filibuster to me. He could be 56.

But, that he would vote NO on the candidate.

Did you notice how Feinstein just misused the word "fulsome"?

I think you are right about him not supporting a filabuster as he doesn't say anything about blocking the vote. Again, I think he is a dork.

When calling hyper liberal senators, we should ask for a VOTE. When calling so called "moderates" we should ask to CONFIRM. If we call Boxer, saying we want confirmation, she'll probably just dismiss it as "rush callers" But if we call asking for a vote, it sounds more reasonable to Boxer...

What struck me about Rush today is that it evidently took him until now to realize that a cloture vote didn't mean the end of the Estrada nomination.

Thanks to the Democrats' obstructive actions in the last 3 years or so, it seems the whole country is learning much more about the pecularities of their federal and state governments.

I heard the same thing guys -- this is a filibuster.

I wouldn't touch that decision by the 9th Circuit Court with a ten foot pole. This is the court she is over though so this should be interesting!

Anti-Hispanic, Anti-Constitution DemocRAT Feinstein who has jurisdiction over the most liberal court in the Country now wants the D.C. Circuit to mimic the 9th Circus it seems! She has fought to keep the 9th Circuit as one court. IMO we need to split that Circuit and now would be a good time.

HOLD ON.........hang on to that!

You should quote back to him the part where he talks about allowing a vote in a timely matter and ask him if that means he would vote WITH the Republicans on a vote for cloture. This might be GOOD!
