Shiver along with the D.C. Chapter, FReepers from across the country, other patriotic Americans and Iraqi exiles as C-SPAN broadcasts the Patriots Rally For America IV today at 1:05 p.m.
Recorded yesterday at the cold, fog-shrouded, snow-covered grounds of the Washington Monument, the rally held to support our troops, President Bush and the American policy on Iraq features former Rep. Bob Dornan, Aziz Al-Taee, Blanquita Cullum, John Armor, James Parmelee, Kevin Martin, Adam Ramey and yours truly.
Also featured are singers Cullen Martin, Stephanie Souders and, from Nashville, Lowell Shyette.
The program, if shown in it's entirety, should run three hours and fifteen minutes.
Get some hot chocolate ready, pop some popcorn, put on your red, white and blue sweaters and get ready to root for the home team: the men and women serving in our Armed Forces.

Terri-I drove to this rally from Indy. I would not have cared it only 10 good patriots had shown up-well, maybe I would have cared, but I would not have regretted going! Besides, I saw the CSPAN camera, and knew the coverage-the comments made by the speakers (which were extraordinary-gripping and truthful) -would be broadcast out to the homes in our nation. When I learned today that 10,000 had attended a rally in Cleveland, a pro-America rally advertised by a radio talk host, and the major nets did not pick it up, I felt doubly glad that CSPAN was at the DC Chapter rally. What if we had had 10,000-and none of the nets, including CSPAN had filmed it? Bummer. Thank GOD for the good people in the DC Chapter.
Hopefully more than we will ever know tuned in-or will tune in for the the future reruns.
I saw first hand how hard the DC Freepers worked to make this a success, they worked REALLY hard. The weather could not have been worse-well maybe colder-but snow and slush is always cold-and it soaks into the best of boots after awhile. Those who came in tennis shoes did not last long standing in four inch deep snow. The crowd was ever changing-and CSPAN only panned one half of the folks there, the cameraman did a 180 turn from the stage to his left, only panning a half turn and then back along the same path. Regardless-Terri-it was a wonderful gathering.
And as I understand it-each rally is gaining in attendance. So the next one will be even better!

You and Kristinn and the Doc and myself stood for Elian-long hours-at Rosedale (was that the name?)- where they kept Elian and his father captive (away from Americans like you and me not to mention congressmen and senators) while reno and doris meissner and joan campbell and clinton and gregg craig kissed Castro's fatuous commie butt. I love ya for that girl-we made more than a few guards uncomfortable. As I remember it-they came out and matched us one for one (along with the other protestors there) as Elian caravan pulled up! What a day that was!
Thank you for your kindness, your dedication, your conviction (have your card up on my wall of fame right here by antique but much appreciated puter :^) and just the plain out fun of conversing with ya! And yeah...Luigi's is a major draw! Hehe! (Where else can you get quality 'free' Chianti? lol)
PS-How many were at that table at Luigi's anyway? Dang lot of Freepers!!! All-singing (wasn't the guitarist sensational?)-toasting-laughing-and generally being as irreverent as all get out! Probably a good thing the management at Luigi's knows and apparently loves Freeepers!
Loved every single second of the trip-but that was the capper. If FTH, baseballmom and the other escapees had been there-it would have been perfect!
If I have to stop thanking you (I know-it can be completely annoying after awhile), I will, but you had better know that you are an extraordinary gem on this earth-not waxing here-just the facts-and the DC Chapter RULES!

Are you in any of the shots? You even captured TgslTakoma ( don't tell her-hehe) in the shot with Rep Dornan and his grandchild ! I think in the second of the same moment-she was on to you and hid behind the featured speaker! Hehe! Did ya capture any shots of FTH?
I would love to have a copy of the pics-and several others. I am puter dumbed down, so I'll FReep ya my email (and thanks) and please tell me-how did that interview go? Be blunt. Did I make any sense ? LOL! And don't spare me--just blame FTH because it was HER IDEA!
