Al Gore has announced that the arrest was part of a right wing conspiracy dedicated to keeping him from winning the presidency in the next 2000 presidential election.

"This boy's not going to Gitmo. Way too cushy.

Why don't we make him our official bio and chem warfare front line 'canary'? A new career that gives good 'exposure'...

Either that, or a night with the NYFD.

Greetings.

I guess this means Dubya gets to put one of those little marks on his scoresheet.

Since you have one of the better memories around here, I ask if he's one of the the guys who may have had something to do with the OKC bombing. That way we could get our mitts on him too.

Mean while, CNN focuses mostly on the Turkey vote and when they do talk about this huge arrest, they say this is the first big event against terror in a long long time. jerks.

Even whoraldo talks about the continued success and boxing in of the terrorist organizations since 911. And, they draw the connection with trying to wrap up some Al-Quada cells before the Iraq war to limit retribution. If they were not somehow connected < subliminalMessage>Islam</ subliminalMessage> then why would they retaliate?

Pakistan Says Arrests September 11 Mastermind

Reuters

March 1

? ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistan said it arrested on Saturday the suspected mastermind behind the September 11 attacks on the United States, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

"We have finally apprehended Khalid Sheikh Mohammed," presidential spokesman Rashid Qureshi told Reuters. "It was the work of Pakistani intelligence agencies...It is a big achievement. He is the kingpin of al Qaeda."

Mohammed was one of three people detained in a raid on a house near Islamabad earlier on Saturday.

In June 2002, U.S. investigators identified Mohammed as the probable mastermind behind the September 11 attacks on New York and Washington.

He was indicted in the United States in 1996 for his alleged role in a plot to blow up American civilian airliners over the Pacific.

Kuwaiti-born Mohammed is a relative of Ramzi Ahmed Yousef, now serving a life sentence for involvement in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

Pakistani security agencies have been hunting al Qaeda members with the help of U.S. intelligence agents since the ousting of the hardline Islamic Taliban government in neighboring Afghanistan in late 2001.

Hundreds of al Qaeda militants and their Taliban allies are believed to have crossed into Pakistan since U.S.-led forces began hunting for them in Afghanistan after the end of Taliban rule.

That's impossible! Senator D'as$hole says that we're losing the war on terror because the President is playing to much attention to Iraq. Are you saying that the Senate minority leader doesn't know what he's talking about???
