This is all about the women's vote. It's a HUGE base and the abortion issue is part of that base.
Without the women's vote, neither she or Bill would have ever got into office.
She needs that base
The Dems were stunned today with their loss on the racketeering application to abortion protestors. It's a tremor which could shift the womens' vote . Millions of dollars worth of contributions and no result.

Mr. Estrada was also on Ted Olsen's legal team in the Florida vote challenge, so if you liked the jurisprudence revealed in the Bush v. Gore decision, you'll just love his lifetime tenure on the federal courts. Scares the Dems to death.

The campus there is really pretty! My youngest daughter and I went to San Diego last December for my oldest daughter's wedding and then went back to Yucaipa/Redlands/San Bernardino to visit! It's a little gem. My son really loves it there.

Say it in Italian instead of French. Bueno Notte.

"They already had the quorum call, and were in quorum. Anyone could have asked for a roll call due to the empty room, and then a new quorum call would have been made. Since none of the opposition was there to ask for a roll-call (verification), it goes into the record that no senator objected!" Brilliant strategery!

I AM ALMOST SPEECHLESS!! I think they passed something like Astrada's nomination because there was no discent! That is why they smiled. I would like a replay.

"what can they pass?"
As far as I know anything that is on the current day ageda!
What a great way to move legislation that is only oppossed to "posture"

Since LBJ no Dem has gotten a white male majority. Killing babies is important to the evil party.

From your Post #3:
"Frist expects a long day and a long night..."
That was definitely the truth!

The Senate is going to show up tomorrow with nothing but the Estrada vote, when there was other stuff "planned" -- Frist and Graham took care of that tonight (ahem, I mean all the senators -- they surely wouldn't leave when they were counted as present, would they?)!

A bunch of Dems are going to be surpised when they wake up?!
To: supercat
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the last thing said by Frist that they were going 'to adjourn into executive session until noon' and since there was no one there to object, they would essentially be in continous session until noon at which time the next order of business was Estrada?
It's late, but does this make sense to anyone?
