Maybe Frist got a rat to switch ? Maybe Frist has a plan to bring a little more heat each day on this while keeping the confused as to when they will make them go 24/7 ? Maybe its a psych game ?

If I were a rat and I Frisk kept coming to the egde and backing ioff everyday it would drive me nuts. How could I plan not knowing which night would be "it".

I think you are right -- Hatch alluded to the fact that it was time the media really started covering this! Now referring to it as the Estrada Filibuster.

This deal tonight was to put it in front of the press so that they cannot ignore it!

My guess is it's a delaying tactic to allow time to try to reach a compromise with Daschle.... otherwise I have no idea. He gave a few days on his requested vote time but Daschle didn't budge on his requested amendment.

it sounds like this is a publicity stunt to force the liberal media to at least give the filibuster lipservice.

I don't recall perky Katie Couric mentioning this at all on the Today show.

I have a feeling when it comes time for a vote, some of the vocal opposition will cave and do what they must politically. They will not sacrifice the hispanic vote.
