More Crew to come...
Carnival's cruise ship Triumph docked at St. Thomas.
Ahoy, Freepers! Why not make your next year's vacation a FREEPER CRUISE? Can't think of a better idea!
United we stand for conservative activism AND some good old-fashioned fun, too!
This cruise thread will be running right up until embarkation day. It'll be packed with lots of information.
Post your enthusiastic comments here. Links are provided below for stateroom/fares information, registration form and
the Bahama Mama Q&A thread devoted solely to answers for all your cruise questions and to provide you with smooth sailing.
We strongly urge you to register ASAP. We need a certain number of registrations by a mid-January cutoff date
to ensure our reserved block of cabins with Carnival. From many communications we've received since last year's terrific cruise,
we're certain the interest is out there. We don't want to have to deep-six this event if we don't get enough registrations in a timely manner.
PLEASE NOTE to hold off on making your air tickets reservations until we give you the go-ahead.
We have more than ample lead-time for this cruise and you'll be able to get good air-fare bargains in plenty of time!
Since some air-transportation tickets are non-refundable, we don't want anyone to be left holding the ditty-bag.
As an incentive for early registration, the first 20 Freepers to get their reservations into the travel agency
will win their choice of five (5) sheets of Ocents.com stamp sheets (go to that website for Seeking the Truth's array of terrific stamps!)
They will also receive a usflagballoon.com pin courtesy of Abner (check out Abner's usflagballoon website
to view the colorful pin and some excellent pictures of the US Flag Balloon!) Registrations will be dated and time-stamped by the agency.
Winners will be notified and they'll receive their gift stamps and pins via mail.
We've got a great contest planned for later. A lucky winner will receive a FREE cabin for two!
Last year, the contest was won by our Freeper pal, Taxman. This time it may be you!
Bookmark this thread. We'll keep you posted as plans evolve. Register now for this fun-filled getaway in the sun!
Informal FRN meetings will be held on board which will be full of information and idea-sharing for effective conservative activism.
Rock the boat with your fellow Freepers! Climb aboard today!
This page is for about the cruise.
If you have questions, do not post them here.
Use the Bahama Mama link and ask them there.
Thank you!

Freepers, we were just notified moments ago that the Carnival line is giving us an additional incentive discount for our May 31 "FReeps Ahoy" cruise. It's a good one!
In addition to the $50 per person discount we posted a couple weeks ago, you can deduct another $100 per person from an inside cabin fare and $150 per person from an outside cabin.
Cabin rates are now as follows (based on double occupancy):
Category 8A - $710 per person
Category 6B - $650 per person
Category 6A - $610 per person
Category 4B - $560 per person
Category 4A - $510 per person.
Single rate (one person in a cabin) is 200% of fare in all categories. We can help you find a roomie if you want to split the fare.
Port taxes of $139.00 and Federal tax of $39.24 remain the same as before and should be added to the new fare for your category.
Please click on the "Cabin Fares" link at the top of this thread to view the original rates and you'll see your savings!
All discounts apply to freepers who have already registered as well as to new registrants.
WOW! This is an extraordinary savings. Depending on which cabin category you select, you can have a week's vacation in the exotic Caribbean for as low as $73 a day with food, entertainment, just about EVERYTHING included. Where else can you get a similar vacation priced this low?
I'll expound on all this in a while, just had to get the good news out right away!

Cozumel was *fantastic*. We jeeped to Mayan ruins and swam in the Yucatan...and had lunch on the beach. Fish tacos...yum.
Be careful at Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The falls were wonderful but I'd stay in groups and act like you've got it together. Don't be sucked into the shops on your way back to the ship...we rescued one couple in particular.
Have a great time. A Freeper Cruise...who'da thunk it? :o)
Oh hey...is JimRob going?
I'm weeping now....

The chefs knocked themselves out creating every kind of chocolate delicacy imaginable. Multi-layered tortes, creamy mousse creations, pies, cookies, chocolate carvings, cream puffs and eclairs, bon-bons and truffles, tarts, ice creams and more, all made with that king of treats, chocolate. Passengers were lined up just to videotape the gorgeous display.
Hope we hit a chocolate night on our cruise. One never knows what delightful themes and surprises are to be found at the midnight buffets.

Why do I have this image of $200 Italian Sandles with Tommy Bahama trunks and a pricey silk island pattern shirt and a copy of Investor Business Daily under your arm as you are headed to the white sand beaches trailed by Heidi Klum and other former SI swimsuit models while I hear you lecturing these lass's on the beauty of 'older' women?
;-)
TS
Have you ever indulged in Baci?
In Italian Baci means kiss! A candy from Perugina this is a dark chocolate truffle with a chocolate cream and hazlenut stuffed inside.
Ciao!

Because of the current uncertainty, cruise lines, resorts, hotels and other vacation industries are promoting unheard-of discounts. If you've always dreamed of a Caribbean cruise, now is your opportunity to take advantage of the tremendous bargain Carnival is offering us. This low package rate probably will never come your way again.
In addition to the reduced cabin fares, freeper registrants will receive some dandy donated gifts as long as supplies last. Plus, cruisers will receive "welcome bags" at the embarkation night cocktail party/mixer. The bags will be full of surprises thanks to the generosity of freeper donors.
The cruise is still three months away. In the estimation of many, the "uncertainty" will be over. This cruise may well be the greatest freeper celebration event since our "Count the Silverware" inaugural ball. You will want to be with your fellow freepers at this time for whoopin' and hollerin'!.
Pick up the phone Monday and call our travel agent, Wanda, at toll-free 1-800-890-7583 (Pacific time zone). A deposit will hold your cabin. Final fare payment is not due till March 21.
NOTICE: We've been notified that March 21 is the "Drop Date". This means we have to let go of all our reserved cabins that do not have a deposit on them. So, it's imperative that you phone right away and get your deposit in by credit card. This way, your cabin of choice is cast in iron. We want not one chillun left behind at the dock!

I am so physched about this trip!

We have a great crew working hard to make this Free Republic Network cruise the greatest voyage since the Mayflower!
MinuteGal/Leni is the skipper and doubles as Bahama Mama, your cruise info-babe.
Bob J is the purser who handles the cruise fund-raising aspect which will benefit the educational and chapter-building efforts of FRN.
Dittomom flawlessly ran the great cruise contest ably assisted by first-mates Slip 18 and Molly Pitcher. Dittomom helps keeps the cruise threads running smoothly and posts some great graphics and comments! She's such a stalwart supporter of freeper events!
Doughty One is our Cruise Webmaster. He set up all the complicated cruise threads, graphics and links. He continually monitors them for changes and continuity. His handiwork and many talents are obvious to all.
Diotima is our Programs chairman and will set up great programs for freeper meetings on a couple mornings we're at sea. She's also responsible for the sailing-night freeper cocktail party/mixer. We know THAT will be a great fun event!
Gene McDonald (Seeking the Truth) is developing the personalized keepsake name-tags we'll all have aboard ship. He's also handling our registration incentive prizes along with Abner, our own American Flag Balloon aeronaut freeperette.
Strela, ably assisted by The Shrew, is insuring that each cruise "welcome bag" will be chock full of goodies. Strela is also in charge of the freeper Beach Party to be held on the world-famous Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman. He also wants to get together a group for an exciting half-day, deep-sea game-fishing expedition in Cozumel. Freepmail him if your interested.
Luis Gonzalez is pitching in to set up an arrangement for a Miami hotel for early-bird-arriving cruisers to stay the night before sailing and to have dinner and maybe a little bash together in the lounge at night. Luis knows the Miami territory and we'll post his findings as soon as all details are in.
Thanks are due also to the many freepers who share their comments and pix on the cruise threads.
Also to the donors who are making many things possible and who will be publicly and thankfully recognized after the cruise.
There are great freepers you'll want to meet on this cruise.....the faces and personalities behind many well-known screen names.
Mingle with the brave, the bold, the witty, the intelligent, the handsome, the conservative, the patriotic freepers on this once-in-a lifetime event. Register this minute, if not sooner!
