You've visited their Web sites -- DrudgeReport.com; NewsMax.com; WorldNetDaily.com; FreeRepublic.com; FrontPageMagazine.com and many more. These are the Web sites of the New Underground. And this is the tale of the cyberjournalists who built them -- the brave men and women who bring you the news Big Media doesn't want you to know.
Learn how these modern-day Tom Paines and Ben Franklins mastered a new technology, the Internet; how they built a New Media from the ground floor; defied an outlaw White House; endured government repression; and exposed unspeakable treason at the pinnacle of power -- treason that led directly to the slaughter of 9-11.
Learn how these cyber-patriots continue defining the cutting edge of New Media in the age of broadband and the blogosphere.
Here is the inside story of the Web sites and cyberjournalists who helped change history, a tale of courage, sacrifice, ingenuity and patriotism -- one of the greatest untold stories in the annals of journalism.
Pre-sales of The New Underground: How Conservatives Conquered the Internet by Richard Poe are now available from Amazon.com.

Sounds like something I'd enjoy reading - but why not start promoting it when the book is actually available for sale?

Seems like a reasonable thesis -- the Internet as the modern day version of the committtes of correspondence before the American revolution.

Richard, this is an idea I've long promoted myself, that today's conservatives are the dissidents. It's not entirely original (see under: Paul Weyrich), but it is one that is difficult to accept. Why, because conservatives are considered and most often consider themselves as defenders of the status quo. Which leads to a paradox or two. The Krintongs and their minions while holding power in the most powerful country of the world, played, and played successfully, at being dissidents, revolutionaries themselves. It was an absurd situation, but one that most accepted becuase it fit the prevailing paradigm. After all, the oldest living tyrant in the Western hemisphere Fidel himself poses as a revolutionary hero, a dissident to the status quo of the "Conservative" America. What to do?
