Some Maine Teachers Traumatizing Students of Deployed Soldiers
WABI- TV Bangor Maine | February 21, 2003 | 6 PM News

Posted on 02/23/2003 9:02:29 AM PST by bogeybob

WABI TV reported Friday that the Maine National Guard Family Assistance Center has received about 30 complaints from children of deployed soldiers concerning Principals, Teachers and Guidance Counselors reportedly demeaning the role of their deployed parent. Some children involved are 7 to 9 years of age.

Here is a letter written to a friend of mine from the Maine Army National Guard:

"Thank you for your interest on this most troubling matter. Our Family Assistance Centers have reported cases from Aroostook County to Southern Maine. We are reluctant to give out specific schools and the individuals involved in the interest of giving the education community a chance to address the problem itself. Also, parents wanted the opportunity to pursue the issue through their local school boards first.

In all, we have over thirty complaints that name schools and individual principals, teachers and guidance counselors. If one considers that these complaints come from just the parents who attended our briefings and only from children who told their parents, we are concerned that the problem may be more widespread than we know.

We are recording the complaints, and I will personally visit these educators to express our concern as a professional organization and ask for their cooperation.

Ultimately, our main concern and first responsibility is the safety of our children during these uncertain times. Maine has a core of dedicated and professional educators, but we will challenge any individual who places our children at risk due to their own political ideologies."

The media should NOT be naming names of soldiers or their hometowns in ANY of their reports (this should have been true during the Gulf War, as you have indicated, but it's even more important now).

That is a very good point!

Write your U.S. Senators, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins. Despite their other flaws, they have both been traditionally very pro-military.

I doubt whether this is only a problem in Maine. Politically correctness has a way of making people inhuman, and political correctness has increasingly infested our schools all over the country.

Believe me, a call to a good republican senator or congressman will get amazing results in no time flat!

Yes, but all we have are Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins.

I am completely over the top outraged about this!

A letter to Snowe or Collins, if they bother to respond at all, will result in the most plain vanilla, generic response possible. Trust me, I know. None of your points are addressed, except to express their opposition or "moderate" view on them.

Not that that's going to stop me from writing anyway.

Just wait till Daddy gets home. The social atrocities committed against the servicemen during the Vietnam era will NOT fly anymore, no way no how. Trust me on this one.

The hyperleftwing track record of the NEA and its adherents is well-known.

My sister's co-teacher years ago in Massachusetts used to actually plaster Democrat candidates' stickers all over the classroom at election time, while proselytizing about how all good things flow from Democrats.

The educrats are the vipers' nest.

Another bump ... the pace of responses has slowed but hopefully not the outrage.

Do these corrupt bums think that kids are going to keep this abuse to themselves? They probably told the kids not to tell their parents (a ploy that is used fairly frequently in the public schools, especially in regards to sex education).

They're bigger idiots than I thought.

While my brother-in-law was deployed to Afghanistan, a classmate of my 10 year old niece told her that the war was her Dad's fault - Him and all the other soldiers like him. September 11th was somehow his fault too. The little brainwashed twit made a bunch of other similar statements, no doubt parroting the stupidity of her own parents. These were not the kind of thing a 10 year old would say, uncoached.

I have used up all my patience with the ignorant, traitorous left in this country. I am absolutely ready to beat the living snot out of the first a-hole I hear about who spouts brainwashing and insults at military dependents.

"Fat" is right! Maine, in addition to everything ELSE that is wrong there, has just been named the nation's "fattest" state, with more residents per capita grossly overweight than in any other state.

I'd like to see those big-mouthed fat-a**ed so-called "teachers, counselors, principals" kicked OUT of the schools for good for their disgusting remarks to the young kids with parents in service. But it's not likely to happen there in light of the prevailing leftist attitudes. Pity...

That's exactly what they do, because they are people who love to control others. Put children in their care 8 hours a day, and they leap at the chance to raise children in their image. While there are many excellent teachers who know their place and respect parents, it seems to me that the educational industry attracts ignorant and arrogant control freaks.

That's why so much time is spent in the classrooms on promoting and enforcing a value system alien to God-fearing and moral parents: enviromental wackoism, tolerance for perverse and deadly lifestyles, disdain for traditional time-tested definitions of right and wrong, self-esteem (pride) based on ego not humility based on accomplishment, and just plain idiocy in general. The corrupt, immoral, and blissfully ignorant in society seek to bring the masses down the broad road of moral relativism and "tolerance", so as not to be judged and held accountable by an absolute standard of righteousness and personal responsibility. They prey on the innocent and impressionable children, because they can.

Instead of turning away from their own wicked ways, they attempt to destroy and pervert those who hold themselves to a higher standard. Nothing like a clean person standing next to them, to make it obvious just how deplorably filthy they are.

This is a spiritual batter of the highest order, and children are routinely being sacrificed to beelzebub aka the NEA. The stench has surely reached unto heaven.
