Fire started at about 9 a.m.The NY thing started around 10:00AM (or soon thereafter. Maybe they were trying to do it simultaneously....

hmmm...shuttles blowing up, refineries blowing up, chemical plants blowing up, trains derailing all over the country-Why bother planning terrorist attacks against us? The jihadis should just open a pack of Jiffy Pop and watch.

I passed the plant at 0830 going to my office and at 0905 left to go to NM. Walking out of my office I saw a big black plume against the overcast drizzle and I went within two blocks of the fire. Two or three buildings with 20 foot flames and lots of roiling black smoke. Six fire trucks and equal number of police were starting block the area off. I have a couple of pictures, which may not be any good(bad camera angle and distance), if good I will link to them.

My husband says that these barges burn often in that area, maybe two or three a year. (He was once stationed on Govenor's Island in the Coast Guard)
