I just turned and looked out my office window and saw a column of black smoke rising towards Union Beach/Perth Amboy NJ.
I then felt the force of an explosion rattle my window.

I saw this on Fox, but they did not mention terrorism.
That was my first thought after I realized it was a USA site rather than an oil field in Iraq.

"How do they know so soon?"
I wonder about that too. It seems to me that terrorists like/want to be able to 'claim credit' for creating disaster and fear because it inspires other terrorists. It may be that the one thing that our government could do, in some cases, is to not let them have the 'credit' they want and thereby uninspire/discourage more terrorism.

I say this because there are NO KNOWN FATALITIES from this huge explosion.
That in and of itself is suspicious.Someone posted that 2 people are missing, though. I think that is who the chopper was looking for--to see if they might have been thrown clear of the blast.

"One of the characteristics of Al Qaeda is that it does not make immediate clear claims of responsibility after terrorist incidents." Al Qaeda hasn't transmitted an offical tactical manual to the FBI, at least not to my knowledge.

Paul Harvey reported a middle eastern guy was stopped by four armed guards entering an Exxon refinery in Utah last night. Can anybody find this information?

It may be that the one thing that our government could do, in some cases, is to not let them have the 'credit' they want and thereby uninspire/discourage more terrorism. And one result of that, once it becomes obvious to people that the government is lying, is that people attribute everything to terrorism.

Can you give one example of Al Qaeda clearly claiming responsibility soon after a terrorist incident?

Ok, so now immigration is the reason for this fire????? just ask patrick buchanan, he'll 'splain it up good.

It turned out two be two East INDIAN guys(not Arabs) shaving their FACES in a bathroom on their way to some sort of convention in Las Vegas. Every single initially reported fact of the story turned out to be completely and utterly wrong.Well. Thats the first I have heard of that story since that day. (9/11/02) I thought I was the only person who remembered that incident.

That area of New Jersey has a large number of oil refineries and storage facilities. I believe most of the storage facilities have fuel piped directly to them from a nearby refinery, so I can understand the confusion.
If this is an Exxon storage facility, then it may have been supplied by the Bayway Refinery across the river in New Jersey.

That was 30 years ago. The work climate has changed drastically. There are no accidents today. Guilt must be assigned and someone must pay in today's culture.

" I think they know that at least in this country, if they started claiming responsibility for Incidents in the US, that would be the straw that broke the camels back for most Americans, and if you even looked like an Arab you would have to leave this country or face the almost certainty that your days on this planet were numbered." My money is that this and the Night Club bombing are linked.
These two major disaster coming on the heels of each other right before we attack Iraq are too close to be coincidence.

huh, What night club bombing?

You may have been asked this before, but...
Could you describe the explosion? What exactly did you hear? In other words, was it a deep, throaty roar or boom? Or was it a short, sharp snap or pop?
I'm trying to get an idea of what the exlosion's velocity was. An accident at such a facility should produce low velocity explosion and hence a deeper, longer lasting tone. Explosives, on the other hand, produce high velocity explosions and hence a higher pitched tone of short duration.

Goverment lying--
How long would it be before we would discover that our government lied about something, maybe twenty-thirty years from now? Lately, everyone has been attributing all our disasters to accidents, some maybe then again some may not be. I don't know..
