Left Wing College Entry # 8
Posted on 02/20/2003 11:16:57 AM PST by ConservativeMan55
Does anyone have the specific states that are with us on the Iraq war, and a list of the ones that are not for us. I am sick of my professor saying that we are "going it alone" I know there are three or four countries against it, but there are many more supporting us.
Also he gave us a list of the 2000 election results and keeps claiming that the poor voted for the conservatives, and that the rich voted for the liberals. I think this is disproved by California.
Conservatives have jobs, and liberals sit around collecting a paycheck is what I think.

Attending college myself, I thank you for posting this question. But I have to jam off to class as well. If I find out the answers, I'll let you know.
I'm pretty sure that Italy and Poland are with us, among with many others.
goodnesswins you posted all the flags of the countries that were with us, could you just post the names for us. It would be greatly appreciated.

I too have class but I'll help compile a list later tonight. Perhaps you should send your professor an email with the list and reference material.

OOPS...never mind...it looks like you have your link. I would point it out to your proff if I were you. Good luck!

After watching all of this "go it alone" bull, I've come to the conclusion that they mean without UN backing. To them, the UN is the be all and end all of everything. Nothing is legitimate without UN support.
And, that's just plain dumb...

Also he gave us a list of the 2000 election results and keeps claiming that the poor voted for the conservatives, and that the rich voted for the liberals. Those who work for a living vote conservative, while those who get their money without working, either by inheiritance or government welfare, tend to vote liberal, as do those who make their living in the social welfare system in all it's various tentacles. Even the blue collar union types are slowing seeing the light, but it's a very slow and very painful process.

It's not entirely accurate - the latest word from Canada is that they haven't even been asked to participate, and Hungary denied passage to U.S. troops just this past week. Turkey is putting its allegiance up for sale and has not committed to assisting the U.S. (though they may intervene on their own). So that list of nations doesn't really tell the whole story.
The nations that are really fully supportive of this effort are:
U.S., U.K., Australia, Israel, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Japan, Slovakia, Slovenia, Denmark, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan
I wouldn't bank on the support of any other nation, especially Turkey... they've really screwed the pooch on this one by trying to extort from us.
In the 'against us' category are Iraq, France, Germany, Belguim, North Korea, and Syria.
For all practical purposes, any nation not either in full support or full opposition is effectively neutral to the conflict - this includes Russia and China as well as good-weather allies (e.g. Hungary, the Netherlands) and fearful Arab regimes (e.g. Saudi Arabia and Egypt).

Your socialist "professor" is way off base as most of Europe is with us.
I guess now we know were college-educated liberals go when they can't get a job--they become professors.
