What kind of people watch "The View"?????????
Posted on 02/19/2003 8:26:01 AM PST by outinyellowdogcountry
I just happened to hear the beginning of "The View" just now. It began with a crass and disgusting, low brow humor about a man's private part. The guest was Jamie Lee Curtis and a discussion began about Iraq. Guess who Jamie was for-something about our president needing to listen to the millions of protestors in America! Then Barbara W. chimed in about LBJ resigning over Vietnam. Who likes this stuff??? I have no patience with this clap trap. It is so much like Donahue. I bet the ratings are low but ABC is keeping it on for the political slant. I feel better now. My question, besides who watches this, is the show always so crude and inane?

You need some more question marks in the title. Nine isn't nearly enough.

I remember when the impeachment process began. The "hostesses" were all moaning and whining, and the fat black lady (her name escapes me) rared back and bellowed out, "Not MY President!"
I think that's the only time I ever watched it, and that was plenty.

Probably people like some of my friends....60+ women with nothing better to do....talked with one last night and am still steaming....held my own, while holding my acerbic tongue....she said we should listen to the UN since there are smart people in it....I laughed and said it was the "Dictators Protection Society".....bottomline, she's afraid of what might happen to HER if we attack Saddam. Sheesh. (And she's a Canadian who came here 30 plus years ago and recently became a US citizen.) /Rant.

brainless soccer moms. And also those (like me) whose job it is to run the local commercial breaks at ABC stations. Watching (sort of) right now.
I usually just turn down the audio, and do other chores or FReep.
All of the women I work with LOVE the View, so I try not to have any discussions with them about this pathetic excuse for a show.
Five different women with different points of view? Hardly.
More like five shrieking liberal harpies with the same anti-family, pro-democrat point of view.

The only difference between "The View" and "West Wing" is that I have at least heard of the latter. Haven't seen either one.

Not sure-one day I had left the TV on while walking the dog, came back in and it was on. Both cats had puked up their Tender Vittles right in front of the entertainment center.

"The View" would have to have glass belly-buttons put in to see where their heads are at.

I bet the ratings are low but ABC is keeping it on for the political slant. I would bet they do well in ratings. There is obviously a constituency for this garbage, given that Clinton won two terms without even coming close to winning a majority of the white male vote.

I taped one episode a couple years ago to watch later. It was when Ron Jeremy was on, and I was amused by the idea of seeing Barbara Walters onstage with a Porn Star.
Five different views my back end, those women wouldn't know an alternate viewpoint if it jumped up and bit them. If they really want to get a woman with a different viewpoint, ask Ann Coulter to join the show. That will rattle their pathetic little liberal cages.

My wife is currently watching it. I called it '5 Lesbians with a Show' as I was passing by. She laughed, so I know she's not taking it too seriously (whew!).
