I fear him. Your story sent a chill through my body. I just can't take more of that cretin. I'm not going to sleep well now.

U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan is "under pressure to resign before the end of his second term in 2006."Two questions:
1) What S*h*le country produced Koffi Annan? Does it still exist or did he sell his people into bondage to bribe his way there the same way he's sold out the USA?
2) If the USA withdrew from the UN and booted their sorry butts out of NY, Clinton would not be eligible, would he? I mean, not unless he invoked his "honorary" citizenship to Red China or something, right?

"and added that China is also a big fan of the former president." Big surprise there.

I always thought that the UN Charter specifically precluded a US Citizen as Secretary General.
Not that this would stop Clintoon!

I can't imagine anything worse for US foriegn policy than to have the president and a former president/sec general who disagree. Policy credibility would be shot everytime he opened his mouth. That said, I would hope that if the security council needed to approve this, the US would veto it. Even a democrat wouldn't want this guy second guessing everything from a position of authority.

Why am I getting the feeling we better call in an "air strike" on our own positions.
The enemy has us surrounded.

The idea that this kind of scenario is possible is very disconcerting. The advent of the arkansas clintons has had such adverse effect on political discourse that the nastiness of todays discourse is the direct result of these two bastards from arkansas. So far, no viable soultion is on the horizon and that is scary.
To: JohnHuang2
this will never happen, but even if it does, Annan only has the power we give him, and from here that looks like very little.
Clinton would use it as a way to get laid around the world, would probably catch a disease and go to Arlington, the one true service he will ever do for the country

DIRT ex-POTUS is such a tarred figure, I can only assume this perrenial trial balloon gets floated just as a means of keeping his lecture fees up, and boosting Chelsea's fee income at her new "consulting" gig.
Now, if ThatWoman (D-NY) ever tires of being 1% of 1/2 of 1/3 of the government, SHE'D be a logical, if nauseating, choice for the "historic" role of "first woman" yadda yadda.

This is too scarey to think about. Maybe I should quit reading stuff on Free Republic. Ignorance is bliss.

The Tribune-Review also reports Russia has made it known it would not object and added that China is also a big fan of the former president.
Odds favor an American secretary general next time around because there has never been one from North America.
No kidding, I didn't know that China was a big fan of the X-POTUS. </faux shock and sarcasim off>
I'd prefer Charlton Heston, at least I could trust one person in the UN.
