I can't believe Hannity is allowing Col Hackworth (Ret) to run down the Active Duty Military again. Talking about some devective "protective gear", if you get my drift. Why would he continue to spew out all this crap that will be swollowed up by our enemies? Why doesn't Hannity get the story from the Active Duty people? If there really is a problem, why give the info to our enemy?????

It is clear Hackworth propagated a false claim that Admiral Boorda did not earn the right to wear the "V" device on his Vietnam Service ribbon, Squids get to wear a VALOR device on a bleeping "I was there ribbon"? This is outrageous if true, especially since most of them were never even "there",or even within eyesight of the damn country. Are you sure you are not confused and Boorda was wearing a unearned Valor device on his Bronze Star for meritorious service?
even after the Vietnam era CNO went on national TV and stated emphatically that Admiral Boorda earned the right to wear the "V" device.
You are trying to spin this. That idiot went on tv and said that is his OPINION,Boorda had a right to wear it. How the HELL do or that idiot Admiral justify claiming Boodra EARNED a Valor device when he was never in combat, never even IN Viet Nam,and never even SAW a enemy?
To: honway
Dalton put in Boorda's service record a letter from Adm. Elmo R. Zumwalt Jr., who was chief of naval operations during the war, acknowledging the admiral was entitled to wear the Combat Vs. The equivalent of getting a note from your mother. One Admiral sticking up for another Admiral isn't exactly breaking news.
To: honway
I know every man that served on a combat ship conducting combat operations against a nation we were at war with earned the "V" device. That right there proves you are full of crap! Floating around off-shore in air-conditioned comfort miles away from any Vietnames at all, never mind armed ones shooting at you,and you think THAT qualifies somebody for a VALOR award? No wonder you support Boodra! Just try to sell that crap to a USMC grunt or Army infantryman and see how far you get with it!
To: honway
I watched Hackworth on 60 minutes selling his woof tickets: the US military is ill prepared for combat in an NBC environment.
D'oh! It's been that way for decades. Although I will say that the individual soldiers are trained to don their 'gas masks' in X seconds...and they do that which they are trained for.

Completely wrong. Sean is the future. He rules. He is the new face of conservatism, and I say bring it on.
On his radio show, I greatly dislike his allowance of that flipper person to talk. If I wanted to listen to liberal garbage, I'd be listening to a different station. I think Sean thinks it's cute, and that's his only flaw in my eyes.

I don't always agree with what Sean does and I hate how he too often gives a platform to nutbars. But then if we say it he gets mad at FReepers. RE: Colonel Hackworth, seems to me he is catching the Scott Ritter Flu - "the change." It's as if I don't "know" him. Hey Sean, if you're lurking...remember when you disagree with President Bush? It doesn't mean you don't like and respect him. Same with us when we disagree with YOU. Hope you remember this if you read my post.
To: sneakypete
You are 100% correct.

Hack when he was not acting in the media during the 2000 election would admit that he would vote for the Goron. His hatred of GW was huge and has not gone down.
Anyone who would even consider voting for the Goron is not a reliable person.

You put that with his little "outfit" that he always wears, and one might wonder if he qualifies for the "Don't ask, don't tell" scenario.
EXACTLY!! This is what I have been thinking for quite some time now, but I have been afraid to post it--he has quite a few fans on this site. And the title of his book--EEEWWWW! Husband makes me change the channel when he comes on!

Better to ask where and why he EARNED his NINE silver stars,...Put your (if you have one) DD214 against his. Don't always agree with him, but respect and defend his right to speak his mind, HE earned it the hard way...Some real hard charging pissants on this thread (the only place they have or ever will "hard charge"......
To: honway
I heard him on Hannity praising Mike Wallace, which in my mind puts his judgement in question.
To: honway
Elmo Zumwalt was Boorda's "Rabbi". Boorda was not a bad egg, but had serious personal problems. The Navy , politics and his own devils, not Hackworth, sunk him. RIP Adm. Boorda..
To: lorrainer
My, My, Ladies, I believe the Col. at 74 would be flattered at your sexual interest (regardless of how you two swing)..

To: sit-rep
sit-rep that is an over simplification of the bigger picture on this thread and I believe you know better .
To: col kurz; sneakypete
Well, well, look who we have here this morning, sneakypete and col kurz. -- Hackbackers.
I started this thread to complain about Hackworth continuing to reveal claimed shortcommings or vulnerabilities of our Active Duty Military. He did it about Djiboutie (sp?), and he did it again. I didn't see the 60 minutes piece Sunday, but I bet Saddam and Al Quieda did. That is my main concern. Hack has a right to speak out against the war, but I don't think he has the right to make our active duty folks more vulnerable...... no matter how many medals he has on is DD214.

Watch Sean get pissed at us again.
If people really want to complain to Sean, complain, but this really does not merit Breaking News does it?
