One day, not long from now, when Iraq is free, they will despise those who marched to keep them in hell. Damn, he's good...

Steyn brings up some good points.
I am a member of a dance group that is filled with liberals. The other night I had a lot of fun when they couldn't answer any question that I asked them. Questions like, "Why hasn't war been declared?"
The peace marchers are actually increasing the possibility of war being waged. Saddam would be singing a different tune at the tables if he knew that the US had the full support of its citizens. So, siding against Pres. Bush is siding with Saddam.
Good Going, Mark

Saddam serves as principal sugar daddy to the relicts of suicide bombersThis is the one and only reason the "Palestineans" support Saddam:
to cash in on $25,000 for strapping Semtex to their children's bodies (that's equivalent to about $250,000 USD).
One good reason to kill Saddam - among many other good reasons - is to end the psychiatric sickness that has engripped "Palestine."

Again, fantastic!

you can tell something's up from the uncertain tone of the Government's once-confident voice: they've run up against something they don't know how to spin. That's a bit cryptic. Wonder what he's getting at.

they will despise those who marched to keep them in hell. Bravo, Mr. Steyn.
I have been blessed with all of the opportunities that come with living in the United States of America. I have never known the atrocities that the people of Iraq face day in, day out.
And I despise those who will continue to march and who will continue to speak out (in their glorious ignorance).
Stay safe.

This may sound stupid, but why can't it go on for ever? What precisely are the disadvantages of this form of stalemate going on for a very, very long time?" Sound familiar?
OPEC, Russia and Iraq
"The ideal outcome for Russia is exactly the same as that for Saudi Arabia and OPEC, i.e. maintenance of the status quo and the sanctions regime on Iraqi oil. Thus, Russia's opposition to a U.S. invasion of Iraq is completely rational."
Maybe there's a fear that without sanctions to protest against, they won't have anything to protest against anymore. So continue the sanctions!

I sure hope it happens soon. Today, after the UN fiasco, I was near a television and I heard someone say (that is, I was in the other room doing something, so I don't know who said this) that the whole event had been unreal: except for Spain and Britain, the UN acted as if the US were a rogue state and Saddam was a model leader.

"the UN acted as if the US were a rogue state and Saddam was a model leader."
The animosity of those who are jealous of our 'standard of living' knows no boundaries. Today was just a bit too transparent when applause erupted in the Security Council Chamber. Before today such displays only occured at sectional UN conferences, such as those on the 'rights' of various groups of people.

"Your line is basically: we can't really be sure he'd sell suitcase nukes to terrorists until one goes off in Birmingham. Then you and Armando will say, oh, OK, maybe there's a link after all - unless, of course, you're among the dead." Is there really a better way to say this? ~~~ I adore Mark Steyn!
