Tarik Azziz just screwed up...Royally! [Wont Answer E-V-I-L Jew Questions Alert]

Was just watching Vatican Press Conference with Tarik Azziz and a member of the Israeli media stood up and asked a routine question about Iraqi missiles and Tarik Azziz dismissed his question and said it wasnt his purpose to come and answer questions of the Israeli media.
Cat calls and sneers shot out around the room and then a German reporter asked Azziz if he'd answer the same question put forward from a German reporter. Many reporters walked out of the room...Foxnews pulled the plug.
MSNBC didnt.

The pope just screwed up. It's deja vu all over again, baby.
Hopefully we'll see Tariq airborne heading out the door into Rome with a Swiss Guard's foot up his ass.

True, I've been corrected, but does he look "middle eastern" like Richard Reid, the toe bomber?
Do you still maintain that Richard Reid didn't look Middle Eastern in that famous arrest photo?

I can see how saddam could use such to his advantage!
But what exactly is a Chaldean Christian?

Aziz is also apparently either to soon (or recently has) meet with the pope. He is a Chaldean Christian. You know, I had not thought of it, but weren't those Iraqis stopped at the Mexican border Chaldean Christians? Hmmm. Although I can certainly see why they would want to flee Iraq right now.

I wouldn't blame the Pope for this. He has been willing to receive just about anybody in the cause of peace. He also has the obligation, unfortunately, to consider the welfare of the millions of Christians who have the misfortune to live in Muslim dominated countries. So he can't just refuse to deal with the Arabs. Yet in spite of that he has done more than any previous pope to mend relations with the Jews.
This appears to have worked out for the best. Instead of a propaganda triumph, using his photo-op with the Pope, Azzis has managed to achieve a shameful PR defeat.

I am a catholic and it is unsettling. But as you see God works in mysterious ways! This is going to backfire on the Vatican and Iraq because the press will remember this. Meeting with Aziz doesn't represent an endorsement of his regime any more than an American ambassador's meeting with Aziz would represent an endorsement of his regime.

I've seen on another thread that Aziz actually did answer the question in the negative when it was asked by someone else. Does anyone know if that's true?

I wonder what the scumbag anti-war demonstrators think of themselves now that they realize they have been defending a bunch of hateful Nazis. Of course, the rest of us knew that all along.

I don't know about that. Maybe an angel was hovering there unseen, loosening Aziz's tongue so his truth self would show. If this diplomatic meeting wasn't scheduled, this moment would not have been caught on video for the world to see.

An Eastern Orthodox Christian.

I've never claimed Richard Reid didn't look Middle Eastern in my life; in fact, I've constantly referenced it as evidence that people kid themselves about how easy it is to visually identify "Middle Easterners."

A lot of folks from that area actually have European genes--from the Europeans who came in the crusades and stayed. It's so hard to tell. My husband who is supposedly just of English and German extraction looks very Greek to me. In a Moroccean restaurant recently, a waiter asked him if he was Lebanese. If you take a good look at some of the people over there, it's clear not all are Arab. I got really tickled during Colin Powell's presentation to the UN last week. Someone with the American delegation looked a lot darker and middle eastern than the Iraqi people.

I see it as an attempt to cover for Iraq. They're allowing him free PR.
Now, what are they doing for our side? Nothing? Didn't think so.
They didn't do anything about boy molestation until their wallets started to go empty, so how can we expect them to support a conservative President?

Then it might be helpful were the Holy Father to offer to spend some quality time with American or British representatives.
To: Puddleglum
That's a good thought. Thanks.
