The poll you cited was on his handling of Iraq. Brit talked about this poll with the panel and all agreed it was because Americans were getting tired of the wait --- most want to get it over with, the uncertainty of what will happen is what is driving the low poll numbers on this.
An addition poll they talked about showed 66 or 69% approval of war with Iraq --- so it backed up the fact that people just want it done.

Do you even read what you write?
I make some mildly conservative critiques of Bush, I write that I consider him weak.......and now I am lumped in many quarters with Sean Penn et al.
This thread is not the place for criticism of Bush? Are you mad? This is an open posting board on the internet. I am not some liberal lurker, I am a strong conservative who is staying up quite late to listen to the UN Debate. If I want to critisize GWB on this board, I have every right.
I am not in Baghdad shouting "Down with America" etc.
I find the attacks on me even more amusing considering that I spent several hours yesterday in a scuzzy Taipei rest. with an Editor of the Taipei Times and several Commonwealth Expats defending the President.
I think people on this site take themselves way too seriously.
They also give ammunition to liberals etc who attack them for being unthinking shills.
I guess in the future to assure all, shills and non, I will end every posting with. Saddam Delenda Est.
If that does not prove my bona fides, I give up.
Saddam Delenda Est!

Yeah, according to the UN, there's only about a 168-hour window between the "brutal winter" and the "hot weather problem". It starts tomorrow and ends next Sunday.

That is EXACTLY what they want us to do. Sit and spend money, troops waiting, making us weaker. The UN is for anything that hurts America. Much like the Democrats.

Over time, Russia will probably dominate Europe. It has the size, resources, and patience to do so. China will dominate Asia.

"That's the part I loved -- not depending on the UN for anything"
They have been told for the last time, I expect. We aren't messing around. We haven;'t sent all those carriers, aircraft and men half way around the world just sit there for another month or two or six then bring them home. We haven't worked for months to put together a coaliton just to say, whoops thanks but we're going home.

Whoo hoo! Rush just nailed Clinton and finally said what we've always known! France, the UN, etc. are being strengthened to act against the US and Bush because of CLINTON! Rush back from break and picks right back up where he left off. Says clinton is free to say whatever he wants, but he's never seen the undermining that clinton engages in. Rush says it is repugnant to him and repulses him.
(It IS repulsive and repugnant and sickening to behold)
Calls the UN nincompoops.

Clinton is the BIG bad smell that everyone's been too polite to name. If there was ever a reason for the Logan Act, it is Clinton. Unfortunately, the Democrats, the press are ignoring all former protocal, the Constitutional roles of the branches of government, the Constitution...the law of OUR land.
THIS is the Clinton legacy!

I know... and I'm anxious... but what we are wishing to happen is the death and destruction of war.
I don't understand the attitude that says "Bush is weak" because he doing everything in his power to avoid someone's son or daughter dying because of Saddam Hussein's meglomania. (I understand that they are really giving their lives for their country... but still, the reason that their country asked for their lives is because of Saddam Hussein)
Politics is as ugly as sausage making. It is two steps forward, one step back.
We are allowing impatience/disappointment to cloud our judgement.
If I were President, I would set my course (I believe Bush has done that) Set my strategy... and do everything I could do to prevent war so that when it happens and a mother or father says "why", I can honestly say, "I did everything I could to prevent it."
My anger at 9/11 still overrides my judgement at times. My impatience does to. But, in the end, I don't have to make the decision and live with the decision and comfort the families and honor the dead.
Why can't that take longer than a commercial break?

"I think President Bush has a speech on Homeland Security scheduled for this afternoon."
Well that will pretty much be my day. Not that spending the whole day on FR is a bad thing. It's just not what I get paid for.
