A Few Of fR's Finest....Every Day....02-14-03 "Love, FReeper Style"

A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Happy Valentine's Day - Love FReeper Style

We all know that FReepers are passionate, emotional human beings. Just attend a FReep sometime and watch some of us in action. Our feelings run wide and deep regarding all things conservative, without a doubt.

Does our passion burn as brightly when it comes to expressing our love for those that mean the most of us? I think Valentine's Day is a great way to find out.

I'd like to begin by expressing my love for someone who is near and dear to my heart. There is someone who is so much a part of me that I can't imagine being without him. He is as vital to me as the air I breathe.

His name?

.45MAN

.45MAN asked that I not "do a profile" on him and I respect his wishes. I will, however, share with you what he means to me.

I met .45MAN 6 years ago when I was at my lowest spiritually. He was a gift from God, another chance given to me get my life together and to do something constructive with it.

Since then, .45MAN has allowed me to blossom as a person. Whereas before I was always thinking and doing things to please others, he allowed me to express my true self. Because of this, I found my religious and conservative roots. I have never looked back.

.45MAN is a defender of the Catholic faith. He can be found on various religious threads and is there not to mock anyone else's beliefs, but rather to defend his. He is also a staunch defender of the Second Amendment and was instrumental in cultivating my interest in gun ownership.

I'd like to share the words from my favorite song by Bonnie Raitt. They are the perfect sentiments to express to my Valentine, .45MAN:

"You"

(Written by Bob Thiele jr Tonio K and John Shanks)
Copyright 1993 WB Music Corp

Nobody else could make me happy
No one could hurt me like you do
You were the only one
That mattered

Then you were gone...Love had moved on
Left me alone thinking of...

You...There was never any other
You...and I were created to be true

Isn't it Love that keeps us breathing
Isn't it love we're sent here for
Wasn't that love that we were feeling
(That was something baby)

Deep in our soul...Deeper than we know
Keeping me holding out for

You...There was never any question
You'll be forever on my mind

You and I, we were meant to be together
True hearts in a world where love is dyin'

And I might as well have been dyin' when
We were apart
When you came back I felt the beating of my heart

You...There was never any question
You'll be forever on my mind
You and I, we were meant to be together
You...and only you

It was you...only you
You...Always you

Happy Valentine's Day, .45MAN
I Love You Always Forever,
dansangel

Since I have everyone's attention, I also want to take this opportunity to send a Valentine to my Finest Sistahs and Fuzzy Brothah :-)

Such a darling photo, Valerie. Hope you still have reason to be glowing this Valentine's Day.

Aqua, I just love that song!

Puddleglum, cute! It's a fact that the male species of birds are more colorful than the females....but I like to think it's only because the females have such inner confidence and beauty that they don't have to call attention to their plumage! :)

CheneyChick - WHOO HOO!! Are you getting those roses on every thread? :) So glad we get to see you here!

Temple, you charmer, happy Valentine's day!

Such a cute elephant, azgal!

Free, I love your new little logo!

Julie, your valentine kitty wish is adorable.

Nan, beautiful Valentine!!

T Man, I guess I should wish you a Happy Valentine's Day, too - wouldn't want you to feel I slighted you, even though you did me.

Happy Hearts to all!

Billie, I hope you don't mind if I use your handle to post a valentine for my one true love. He is the light of my life and much of what dansangel said about .45man is true of my feelings about my husband, my sweetheart.

:) I accept a piece of that too and I'm right back at you. Gee I hope no one's slighted if I didn't send a separate one to everyone. (Except The Thin Man -- that was on purpose.) We all can't be flirts like St.Louie1! LOL, that wolfie sure created a stir today. Seems like this is his favorite holiday!

Seems to me that The Thin Man's love for Billie is *very* subtle. The Thin Man, I certainly hope that your delay in sending Billie a valentine is not intentional! Not that I'm trying to start anything, mind you. ;)

Bless your heart for the kind words you shared. You never know....your wife may share your enthusiasm for target practice one day soon. I never thought I'd b a gun-owner, let alone a "willing participant" but here I am.

.45MAN tends to drool just a bit when we walk past the .50 carbines at the gun shows....LOL!!!

I am patiently awaiting your prose! :-) Looking forward to discussing "other literary matters" when time permits.

Happy Valentine's day to you and Mrs. Ghost!!

Hi Meekie. What a sweet valentines basket. Wonder what Clara is doing for Valentine's Day today?????

Thanks.

Clara? They're deliberating punishment today...

Jurors deciding Harris' punishment
(Clara Harris murder trial)

...and she has moved into her new apartment. I'm sure she's excited about her new roommates!

Harris, who was required to remove her wedding ring and other jewelry, was allowed to say goodbye to her family before being taken to the Harris County Jail, where she will be lodged pending the completion of sentencing.

Yeah, I'm going to have to wait until later to take care of Wolfie. I just don't have time to get into it now. Have to go to the funeral home. Not a very good valentine for some families. Later gang.
