The Dems stepped in it, big time. Hispanics have been calling in to Rush---he took four in a row, and said he could have taken 100 today---who are outraged over the Dems' treatment of Estrada.
Every one claimed to be either a Dem or a "former" Dem, with a couple of them virtually switching today. They ALL spoke highly of Bush. The idiot Dems have no idea how badly this is hurting them!!!

Democrats think that Hispanics only belong in welfare lines and abortion clinics.

Sure, but with what integrity? The claim against Clinton's picks was that they were more for "photo-op" than for quality. -PJ
So
I didn't say WHY Clinton did it I said Rush was wrong when he said there weren't any
In addition he blamed Daschle for cutting military spending under Clinton's 8 years
Ahem
The GOP controlled congress from 94 to 2000 not the democrats

ummm...the Cuban-Americans already had the Dems figured out a long time ago. It is one of the few Hispanic groups, if not the only one, that has always voted overwhelmingly for the Republicans. It voted over 80% for Ronaldus Magnus and Bush 41. It slipped a little in the 96 campaign. But Bush 43 regained the overwhelming Cuban-American vote in 2000 with over 80% in support. Plus, they helped re-elect Jeb and sent 3 Republicans representatives to Washington.Yep, because of Castro. They know what is necessary to prevent the same thing from occuring in this country.

"If Rush really wanted to do some good he would re-record certain segements of his show in spanish, or take on a spanish speaking conservative partner to rebroadcast his show in spanish speaking markets."That's one helluva good idea.

Bob, bob, bob. You are going out of your way to MISrepresent and MISunderstand what is happening. No, blacks did not desert over Thomas . . . then. But a crack in the facade appeared. Bush only got 9%-10% of the black vote, but virtually analyst I've seen thinks right now he would get double that, perhaps more.
As for Hispanics, the numbers are in---despite pooh-poohing by the anti-immigration crowd---and they showed that in fact Hispanics DID contribute significantly to the GOP wins in NY, Texas, Colorado, and Florida. Moreover, Bush's track record indicates that he can increase his original Hispanic totals by about 40%. That is incredibly significant, and to single out "no-defections-over-Thomas" (who replaced another black, by the way, and was not a de novo "black appointee," as Estrada is a first-time Hispanic appointee) is finding the lone cloud in the blue sky.

No, you are wrong. Rush specifically said, "Clinton did not appoint any Hispanics to the federal bench."
He aslo said Clinton didn't appoint Hispanics to positions of power

Not the same race...but the quote fits.
"There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the negro race before the public. Some of these people do not want the negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don't want the patient to get well." Booker T. Washington, 1911

As if he was tying to say the rats were racist in their rejections of him. Then you must be equally outraged when the DemocRATs call Republicans racist all the time. The RATs claim to care about equal opportunity. They're the self-professing minority number crunchers. Wellllllll....here's a hispanic for them.
This just proves that all the RAT cries of "racism" are ONLY about politics. They want to scare minorities into a RAT voting block. It has worked for a long time but the block is a crumblin'.
According to the RATs, hispanics should get preferences in all their endeavors. So, this candidate is a hispanic. That should give him extra credit with the RATs. He is also plenty qualified -- which is what gives him credit with the Republicans.

No, I don't think Dems are "racist" in the typical sense the media uses the word. But they are racist in that they think minorities cannot advance without THEIR HELP. I agree, the overriding reason they oppose Estrada is because he is a conservative, but Rush is right: they also can't BEAR that Bush would be the first to nominate (successfully) a Hispanic.

Every one claimed to be either a Dem or a "former" Dem, with a couple of them virtually switching today. Hispanics are family oriented and much more conservative then is generally believed.
Keep it up Dims, KEEP IT UP!!!!!

I do so agree with you. I was listening to Rush today and was blown away by the comments of these people - but not surprised.
I have the most wonderful Hispanic daughter-in-law. Knowing her has given me great insight into how these people live. They have more regard and reverence for older family members. Her family is hard-working, tax paying, home owners, and good contributors to America. Their parents legally immigrated here from Mexico. I love them all so much; they are really wonderful and caring people.
When I hear the dems infer that Estrada is not a "good" Hispanic, I'm extremely insulted.

Sat next to a full-fledged liberal on a plane rid the other day. 'Course the man was an arrogant know-it-all...so, after listening to an hour's dissortation on how great Clinton was, I finally got a word in edge-wise.
I asked him the following question: "Sir, you seem to know everything, can you tell me why goats, cows and horses all eat in practically the same pasture but it all comes out differently. For instance, goats have these little pellets; with cows you get a 'pie,' and horses give you 'bisquits.' Can you tell me why?"
After pondering the poser for what seemed like 10 minutes, he finally answered: "I don't know..."
Well, sir," I said, "You seem to know everything else but you really don't know HILLARY!"
