Prayer Thread for Yellow Rose of Texas - THIS IS NO DRILL!!
Posted on 02/13/2003 11:28:49 AM PST by TEXOKIE
Long time Freeper Yellow Rose of Texas has recently had an attempted back surgery during which her aorta, which was encased in scar tissue, was nicked and had to be repaired. In a previous prayer thread, many many folks have graciously offered their prayers and comments of encouragement to her. I spoke with Yellow Rose of Texas yesterday and here is the latest!
Her recovery to the previous surgical attempt to do the back surgery has been phenominal. She saw her doctor two days ago on Tuesday. She is doing well enough that he has scheduled her back surgery in a week for TUESDAY FEBRUARY 18, 2003. She had initially been told it would be a few weeks longer to recover, but she has amazed her doctor and he judges that she is ready for the next procedure.
Rose has asked me to thank you each and every one so very much for all your thoughts and prayers on her behalf. She asked me to quote her,
"Thank you so much. I feel each and every one of your prayers. The Good Lord is with me and my family. I dont feel scared at all. This surgery will stabilize my back and it'll all be fine. I feel so protected. I am hoping that this surgery will enable me to once more return to the freeping that I enjoy. It has seemed in my life that if something unusual can happen, it will happen to me. Please pray that the surgery be routine. NO SURPRISES!! LOL!!"

Rose mentioned the cookbook today. She is really enjoying it.I'm so very glad. Hope she doesn't hurt herself laughing, however.

As I understand it, the defect is not on the surface of the eye like you would normally see, but UNDER the lens involved. So it will be delicate, with more risk involved. So it will be delicate, with more risk involved. TEXOKIE, my mother had the same type of eye surgery a little bit back. She came through it just fine. The doctors told her the same thing but also informed her that it was still a standard procedure for the doctors doing the procedure.
Ping me when the thread starts for your sister.
Great news about Rosie. I'll still keep her in my prayers.

Thank you sweet liberty! I'm so happy she's doing well too. Selfishly on my part, it means that as soon as the doc gives her clearance we will be able to see her freeping again!

Thank you for filling us in on Rose's progress, and all the good news.
Praying for your sister's cataract surgery!
"I want people out there to KNOW that the Lord DOES open doors...even after a LONG time!"
Amen and amen ... I've often found that, about the time we give up on hoping things will change, and have adapted to the rigors of a severe, long-lasting trial, God moves. Looking back, and in light of what unfolds when we turn that corner, we see how marvelously God has been changing ... us ... while He would not change our circumstances, and developing qualities and opportunities in secret that can only be manifested after His times are fulfilled.
His ways are not my ways. But then, His ways bring eternal life. Mine don't!
