Watch it. WhiskeyPapa will be in here claiming that RE Lee was a cross-dressing pedophile.

The best thing to do is to wholly ignore these one-trick ponies (one-bong blowhards?), which I decided to do a few days ago.

As have I.

>>See Civil War threads for another example.<<

No, the GOOD vitrol is on the "Have lots of children" versus "Childfree" (aka "Overpopulation" vs "be fruitful and multiply").

Man, those are flame-o-liscious!

"Even the Temperance Movement had more respect for the Constitution than that. They did it the legot way, they respected the LAW, they passed a Constitutional Amendment."

Ah-ah-ah. You are entitled to your own opinions, but not your own facts.

Congress passed laws banning and restricting alcohol before the 18th amendment was passed.

That's pretty clever. Whatever you do however, PLEASE don't circulate a strongly worded petition.

Well, Admin Moderator mentioned Propane, but I'm thinking more along the lines of Methane... That Dante, he was a wild man...

Oklahoma City school kids got a day off today so teachers could protest budget cutbacks and get paid while doing it. If they had picked a weekend to protest it would have been on their own time. They took what is called a "snow day" in order to protest and stay on payroll.

They did that here in Washington State a few weeks ago, too... now the kids lose a day of summer vacation... I mean, I wish I could take a paid day off from work to protest my pay...

Certainly they taxed it, as the Constitution allows. Where is the BAN? John Hancock speaks up from his grave and would like to know.

"...methane..."

Beans, beans, good for your heart
The more you eat...

...the more your wife stops nagging you about your fiber intake and the amount of complete protein you take in each day instead of all those evilsatancommunistnazi carbohydrates that are not only making you fatter but will kill you before your prime and leave your children to become state-funded artists or telemarketers or something and not to mention your loving wife who is only looking out for whats best for you and thinks that tofu is great (not just karate for the ends of the feet) and that no, silly, you aren't less than a man for eating it and it doesnt matter if I told Jerry, the marine next door, what I was making you for supper and now he smirks at you.

By the way, tomorrow we're having something called "Tempeh"...

There is an announcement topic. You can add it as a sidebar by clicking here.

However, considering what the charter of this forum is, chapter activities will be promoted and welcome in the breaking news sidebar.

Thanks, AM

Hellooooo.....John Hancock!

The Lever Food and Fuel Control Act of August 1917 banned the production of distilled spirits for the duration of the war. The War Prohibition Act of November 1918 forbade the manufacture and sale of all intoxicating beverages of more than 2.75 percent alcohol content, beer and wine as well as hard liquor, until demobilization was completed.

The 18th amendment, BTW, was ratified January 16, 1919.

"Consider this an invitation from an anti-W.o.D. freeper to join in and argue your point."

I tried that when I first came to these boards, and acted civily. All the debate I got was: nazi, facist, statist, jackbooted thug, or posts similar to the one following yours. It felt like I was arguing with a liberal with all the name-calling and snide insults going on. And I actually joined in, acting childish in response. Then one day, I thought to myself, WTF? I'm not a kid in a playground, there's no need for me to act like one.

And to be fair, a good portion of the anti-drug crowd sling strong insults as well. But nowhere as hateful as the pro-drug ones, in my opinion. References comparing nazis (marching people into gas chambers) to US law enforcement agencies (who actually do solve a lot of crimes) does little but make this great website appear extremist and fringe.

If any of this post was personally insulting, it was not intended as so.

Yes. But again these are guidelines and not hard and fast rules.

A duplicate article, if noticed, will be pulled if the latest copy of it was less than 3-4 hours previously. This applies to relatively recent stories, however. For older stories, if it has been posted within a few days, or for really old stories, within a few weeks, then it will be pulled.

Search for articles before posting. If there is a duplicate, consider how fresh a story it is. If it is not very fresh, don't post the duplicate. If it is, then see if the thread has been in the last few hours and if it is, don't post it.

Thanks, AM
