just let the consequences be consistent with the crime. Rapists and child molesters get less time than this.

Judge Johnson sentenced the Robinsons to six months in jail.

Not 8 years.

What are the concurrent sentences of rapists or molesters wherein 80 children are victimized?

File this one under: "Actions Have Consequences."

Do you think 8 years was a more fitting sentence than the prosecutor's recommendation for 90 days?

I don't live in Virginia, so my opinion on the matter would not matter at all to anyone involved.

I totally agree with you. We've got 18-20 yr olds stationed in the Middle East who may give their lives for this Country but this Country forbids they drink a beverage containing alcohol. That's the line we used when we graduated high school and I can't argue with it 15 years later.

Six years per count, 16 counts.

They broke the law. They were found guilty. They were sentenced. They have the right to appeal.

The judge refused, saying he saw the Robinsons as "a danger to the community."

The judge is a danger to the community!

Where is the parents kid now?

I am not suggesting the judge go after anybody. I am suggesting people accept responsibilities for their own actions - and not blame others.

At my high school graduation party, the county judge served the beer. We must have been 500 people at that party. It was wild.

Times have changed.

Yes they have. It's a function of overambitious judges and prosecutors and an increase in plain old busybodyism, the idea that some have the right to tell others what to do "for their own good" of course. This is probably the number one threat to our liberties today.

I suspect it may be time for more "active measures". Publicize the names, addresses, phone numbers et al of overly zealous governmental types (judges, prosecutors, CPS agents, etc.) and if possible, those of snitches as well.

Surely you are not comparing being served a beer to being molested or raped.

I still think the sentence is excessive. Make them do some time and volunteer in an ER or rehab facility to see first hand the results of drunk driving.

A 19-year-old man found guilty of supplying alcohol to the July 16 party that Brittany Bishop attended received 30 days in jail and 200 hours of community service. Another teen received 10 days in jail and 100 hours of community service. Elisa Robinson’s ex-husband, Mark Kenty, has pleaded guilty to six counts of contributing to the delinquency of minors for helping supply alcohol to the Aug. 16 party. He is scheduled to be sentenced March 27. Contact Liesel Nowak at (434) 978-7274 or @dailyprogress.com.

So the girl was drinking? Her supplier only got 30 days. Wonder if it was the same judge?

We need to lower the drinking age or abolish it altogether. Good beer and drink is a gift from above to be enjoyed and used responsibly, with thanksgiving. The judgment referred in this article consitutes an abuse worse than the offense.

The article says 6 months per count served consecutively. 16 counts, 8 years.

We don't have to obey the laws if we don't 'feel' they are just.

That is correct. Civil disobedience and jury nullification are the People's guard against legislative usurpment of rights and judicial fiat.

Bet you didn't think of that while you being so, like, cool with the sarcasm.
