"That is a great poem."

I agree. I thought so, too.

"I've always said it's not the gear, it's in the hands."

Yup.
Seems like common sense; but, common sense ain't so common anymore either, eh? (~little John Prine, there. {g} )

>Then again, this Lady's not only a "Master" in her own right, but she's almost always right to boot.<
"That's frightening!"

Nawwww.
I've found such a magnificent mind's nothing to fear, a'tall.
Quite the opposite in fact, as her's is really quite inspirational in a strangely quiet & controlled kind of way.
I'd even say its been a saving grace, at times.
The epitome of sobriety, stability, & faith all rolled into one package.
Yea, everything I'm *not*.
Quite refreshing, indeed. ;^)

"The Doug Grey MTB still plays a club on Long Island every year, but I can't bring myself to see them."

Your musician's sixth sense, sounds like to me.
Keep listening to it. {g}
There's been a LOT of very hard feelings over what Grey as done.
All the hard feelings are rooted in the disposition of the orig group's recordings amoung the surviving members &/or estates of the deceased members.
Supposedly Grey feels the old stuff would encroach on the "new" group's work so he won't give his blessings -- according to contractual agreement -- for the release of that old material.
Those other people would like to skin this guy alive, from what I've been able to gleen from the scuttlebutt.
Which explains *why* there isn't ANY video footage of the original group in concert made available for purchase to the general public.
In that sense, I guess you might as well add me to the list of skinners, then.

"I have yet to hear the Eels, but this is not the first time I have heard about them. Address on the way."

Got it.
Gimme a couple of days to spool ya up some of these guys; &, whatever else I feel you might enjoy.
Keep in mind the eels only success was their first CD; because, after that they lost a key member.
Looks to me like these youngsters couldn't handle the success.
Just speculation based on their subsequent recordings -- as so oftn is the case -- being totally devoid of the magic they generated, I felt was the direct result of their chemistry.

As for any other stuff I add?
Just remember what I send would've been produced during some very different, turbulent times.
What's "Liberal" today, wouldn't have been (considered) Liberal, then; although, there're plenty of fools who'd insist otherwise. OK??
I think of this music as, "radical."
In a very "Libertarian" kind of way? ~oy vey~

Just listen to the lyrical *messages* that're embedded witin the spectacularly performed instrumentation & let it go from there.

...& now, to contemplate what exactly to send.

"The recorded version of this always brings a tear to this ole man's eye!"

You really need to expand more on this, sultan.
Like the who, what, where, when & whys about it??

...for starters. {g}

"Maybe someday I'll come down your way..."

There'll always be a place for you, Kar.
You'll never be able to beat the *rates*, food, or conversation anywhere in the lower 48, either. ;^)
Plus, I'll show ya 'round this town in my *new* ride; which, I think you'd really get off on??

"Thank Goodness my son is doing great!"

FABULOUS!! (~i didn't want to probe that until *you* mentioned it, first)
Praise the Lord!! ~then pass the ammunition. :^)

"My very best regards to Kate and the Family"

Ahhh...the family would be *me*, Kar. {g}

...will do. ;^)

Jeff and Debby Smith from Richmond recorded this song ("Touch of the Master's Hand") on a gospel album about 12 years ago.

"You look healthier--and smarter--already!!"

I shall try to keep that look by not posting any more bloviating bogwash.
But that will be hard for me...

Welcome to FR.com, Newbie...MUD

Sheeesh, I'll never get any respect.
BTW, one thing probably won't change...I'm still posting these silly little smiley faces. A 44 year old guy should not find this much amusement in animated "dancin dots"... but I just can't hep' muself...

Another BTW...expect Sultan to soon start posting gifs an' gaffs. I sent him directions...LOL!

I understand Skynyrd was going through some similar problems.

Pretty stupid, if you ask me. What the hell kind of contract are you going to sign that prevents you from earning from past success. They could rake in a bundle with material from the original band. Some guys are just plain dumb.

BTW. Can't You See was one of the first tunes I learned. I could still probably play the whole damn thing, given a minute. Love that song.

"Perhaps now is a good time to point out that MUD is far from a professional voice...LOL!! I'm certainly not the next Bocelli or Pavarotti, but yes, I will sing almost anything...

This opera singer, when interviewed said, "I might have one of the finest voices ever, but I'm FAR from a professional like the FReeper known as Mudboy Slim, when it comes to FReepin' tunes about our EX-POTUS!"

"Dude, I am dead serious about movin' south. Between the weather and the liberals, I'm about losin' it!"

CM, are you in the Big Apple? I can't say as I blame you...let the Exodus begin...

BTW, about this group in R.I.and the fire.
Boy, does it sound like they screwed up BIG time...no pyrotechnics permits, no permission... I just heard close to 100 deaths so far?
Sad...I wonder what's in their future...possible jailtime? I wouldn't want to be in their shoes...

Yep, I'm in the Big frickin' liberal Apple.

Don't get me wrong. I grew up here and love this town...........except for winter.........and the liberals.

That fire in R.I. is just horrible. They won't lay this on the band.I believe they lost their guitar player.

Using pyro indoors in a club is just effin stupid. But the club was a firetrap. Watch the video of it. They had noise proofing foam on the walls. That stuff is wickedly flammable. The place went up like a match.

I haven't played in a band that uses pyro since '87. I play in some big clubs and nobody would allow pyro to be used.

This is a horror.
